I have noticed very little love for Softube on the other site. Yet Softube make plugins for UA and Waves.

I like their tube tech and trident a stuff. So good.

i think they are overpriced a bit, but they are great, purchased the CL1B compressor on sale for 100 bucks the other month, would never pay 300$ for it tho

Their plugin sounds are very detailed like Yam hs speakers.

  12. I think the popularity of their Tube-Tech stuff is at least as much to do with Tube-Tech as it is with Softube. The problem with old audio gear is that it’s old audio gear and if you buy a Pultech you either get a thing like a Walmart suit, that’s had two jackets and three trousers, and is supposedly the same suit, or you end up frying tonight on forty year old capacitors. The Tube-Tech Pultec clone is probably the most exhilarating EQ I’ve ever used, and the Softube plugs have that by the bucketload.

Very, very good plugs. And very, very good support.

they have more edge then waves and do one thing and they shine there. very old design by today's standards. i would choose softube before slate.

The CL1B sounds so good ;_; But it was always hit or miss for me and lots of other people. Been doing more mixing lately and remembered I could always EQ before the compressor so I'm hopefully gonna get more out of that comp because I always find myself wanting to use it because of how it sounds. TSAR is pretty good. I read recently it won an award or something. It's more well known than I thought. The Pultec emulations are so awesome. More often than not I'm using them over the Waves and the FET comp is effing incredible on vocals. I like the Waves 1176 but the FET had such different characteristics yet was exactly what I wanted to hear, I was sold. I don't usually use the Waves 1176 on vocals either. In fact I tend to avoid it because people use it so much it sounds boring sometimes. The FET is my emergency comp for vocals. If nothing else is working, I know that it's just gonna work or at the very least probably get me to 90% of the way. It's literally so good that I don't use it. The Trident EQ is nice but it's never done what I wanted it to :v Maybe when I get used to the sound, I can give a more informed opinion. Never really used the Tape. Magnetite, McDSP's Analogue Channel 202 and Fabfilter's Saturn always did it for me. Not saying it's bad. I just haven't used it yet. I hate Drawmer though :v I hate anything that tries to make light of the mastering process.

EDIT: The Abbey Roads presence boxes are really nice and I love the Vintage Amp Room and The Bass Amp Room. I use the Bass Amp Room almost religiously. It never fails as a starting point for a good DI.
