Unsurprisingly, it has been replaced by an even more expensive one: Equinox Summing Mixer and Monitor Controller at $6,000.

 

It also is a mic preamp so the six grand is reasonable.

It is a different thing that in fact replaced the Oculus. Why? At that price rage the Oculus was not able to compete with less priced monitor controllers. Therefore, the Oculus experiment had to be discontinued and the Equino remained as the ONLY product by Shadow Hills featuring monitor controlling capabilities albeit packed with other features that, as @Lois Lane correctly noted, justify its hefty price tag. When it came to the Oculus, you had to be a fool or Shadow Hills fanboi to purchase it for $3300 Oculus. The value for its price was not there, and Peter knew it. Indeed, what always surprised me was that when the Equinox came out (I think it was 2005 or 2006) it sold for $4000 which was a better value than what the Oculus later offered for $3,300.

 

A 10 or 15year Experiment?
I mean, i dont know but i think that Reardon does much more custom Stuff in recent years.
And doesn't need extra work/, its mostly Handmade gear that costs naturally more.
If you think, like the reviewers @SOS that a central station "competes" with SH.O
then go for it, i´m not arguing about that.

The SOS review called the Oculus for what it was, an overpriced (based on its features) monitor controller. I love it when a reviewer tells it like it is. I don't care whether Shadow Hills products are handmade or not, the bottom line is that at that price range the Oculus could not, and still can't, compete with similarly priced monitor controllers. On that, I agree 100% with the SOS reviewer. Indeed, in that price range products from Grace Designs, Crane Song, Antelope, and Dangerous Music are better choices when it comes to monitor controllers.

Your bias is showing, you dont care about the gear, i would say the presonus is overpriced
for what you get. they actually send the audio through the remote.
they stopped producing the (often failing) power-block altogether, and switched to a completely different design, not backwards compatible, and fucked all their users.

You are right, I don't care about the gear. I just buy whatever looks good on photos, or whatever SOS praises in its reviews just for the hell of it Indeed, that is how I buy my vibrating dildos. If they look good, I purchase them. I do not care if they work well or not.
