Is there a way to play an Acess Virus soundbank (.mid) only with a VSTI in a x64 DAW without buying the actual hardware synth??

*yes* Yes !... BUT for this, and without possessing the "actual hardware synth", you'll need its Virtual counterpart --> '(TC PowerCore) Access Virus PowerCore'. *yes*

Studio 555 beat me to it, the only software versions that support this compatibility are the powercore, all other emulations are just a attempt at getting a similar sound. Its different technology so sys exc data is meaningless to them unfortunately. Perhaps one day though someone like native intruments or the like will be licienced to create one.

Buying a hardware-based TDM system or a PowerCore system. TDM systems had those Viruses on iLoks..

I'm afraid that the only solution for you in case that you absolutely want to get that (Virtual) 'Access Virus PowerCore' is to buy one of the 'TC PowerCore' products (now unfortunately officially discontinued ! ) as a second hand, and for which the previous owner had a Valid Licence for that 'Access Virus PowerCore', as in this case, he can to give you its own Licence. *yes*

The most affordable :



BUT only available as a 'PCI Card'. You'll then need at least one (old) 'PCI Slot' available within your Mother Board ! *yes*



An ergonomic and external Box Version, but needs 'FireWire' Connections.



And finally, the 'Flagship' of the 'TC PowerCore' products range (available as a Rack Unit 19"). Of course, the most expensive but also the more powerful. It also needs 'FireWire' Connections. *yes*
