    Hi Folks,
I got this annoying problem, which has bothered me a little b4,but now its getting on my nerves.
    So here's the issue
lets say i have a bunch of tracks with items, and i want to edit a specific item on one of the tracks which is the bottom, which is not armed or selected, (it doesnt matter anyway it happens even if the track is armed and selected) heres wat i mean
    Rp Md 1.jpg

When i open the midi editor, which is docked to the bottom i lose focus on the arrange view and i have to scroll up and down to find that item.
Its been not just a pain in the ass, but a pain in the eyes too.
    Look

Does anyone have a solution for this, is there anyway that when an item is opened it just focuses on the item/track

that shouldn't be happening at all maybe you accidently changed a setting within Reaper ......try this go to show actions in Reapers actions menu then go to Zoom to Full '' assign it to the key command of your choice if that doesn't work try this MIDI Editor Magic Custom Zoom And Scroll Scripts on the Reaper Forum just type it in the search bar on the Reaper forum and Feedthecat Custom Zoom thread will come up and he has directions on how to set the custom zooms

Why? Happening here too - depending on Editor height.
To avoid this, you'd need a setting like 'center view on edited item in main view' but Reaper doesn't have this by def.

oh ok maybe we can make a screen set layout and save it .....thats the only way i can think of at the moment
we can try reaching out to IDDQD Sound on youtube he responds quickly from my experience and will help us create a macro for it

@No Avenger dude do know of any scripts like "Script: tagirijus_FX list menu.lua" that would display fx list of a selected track that can be docked to the toolbar, Im taking a look at Fx inspector, i think thats too much for my needs, idk.

One method that works is to increase the vertical zoom and scroll the track to the top.

Interesting idea, but I've never seen that.

Tats exactly wat im doing now,
s its in the action list, there's not much mention of it anywhere.

Birdbird Fx inspector is nice but its got too many features like parameter capture sidechain etc. u should have a look if u dont know already might be useful
    Heres the link

Can't you make a custom Reaper action?

Show action list -> New action -> New custom action ->

View: Toggle show MIDI Editor windows
Track: Vertical scroll selected tracks into view

Seems to work regardless of dock size.

S there is but its not an option, that we can enable once and forget, its an action that has to be run every time, the downside its only vertical. I remember Live has that feature as default, once you click a clip it opens piano roll and that clip can be in the center of arrange view. @No Avenger was right Reaper doesn't have that feature yet, but it would be great if someone here who has cockos acc. could make a feature req. I dont have an acc yet.
