hi guys,

Have been trying to find a tool that can remove anything but the notes from a midi file just because when importing some funny midi to studio one, it triggers the program change and well, I don't know how to do it from the daw.

I found a freeware app that it's impossible to get in 2020: midi file stripper by optomatic

I also had a go with sekaiju but my brain was paralyzed by an electromagnetic storm just before I put my hands on the computer :/

I wouldn't mind installing - only for this purpose - another daw with good midi capabilities, (except cubase........ .........) or a midi editor

Your daw does it.
Just filter out the MIDI info you don't want, then delete it.

Logic Pro will do it also, so will Mixcraft. Those I know for sure, but I prefer Studio One. (especially v5.1 with Notation Editor as well)

yes.. But is the software that can remove the tags in bulk?? I've been searching for this for years... I know you can do it in Cubase manually per midi file. but a third party software that will remove "Pitchbend, Pan, Program Change, ect....' would be fantastic.

 

So basically you mean strip everything out except Note On/Off events?

 

@No Avenger Yes. The Logical edit will do it. but then the files will have to be saved again... I was looking for somthing the a metatag editor... Basically one shot and all done.

 

Prolly any average DAW will provide you the solution for that.
