    Hi there,

In order to lets say open a plugin in a program like Bitwig ( or any other ), do you have to double click on things you want to open on Mac?

I m trying to avoid having to move to Mac OS, but some of the ways windows works ( > does not work ) is bringing me to a point where i think i may need to live without some plugs

You can set windows to hover to highlight and single click

On Mac pretty much everyone is keeping the Apps in the program bar. A single click is launching the app. If you have shortcuts on the desktop, you must double-click them to open. Anyway, moving to macOS or uwing both Win & macOS is not hard at all so there's no need to worry

Clone and edit the Settings.ini file for multiple docks.

It's DAW dependant. FOREXAMPLE, TO open the FX window in REAPER on windows, it's 1 click. Mac is no diffrent

The windows taskbar since W7+ now behaves more like the mac dock. Other things may differ.

For big companies that offer x-platform plugz, no. But for smaller devs, there'll be a alternative on mac, but may not have all the subtleties you're looking for. This is why one of my themes for plugs is

Unless it's exceptinally good (like low CPU)

Thanks, but i ve tried that

it will select things randomly and copying and moving stuff around will become really messy

    edit2:

It seems it is impossible to just place your mouse over a selected folder in windows, and use the mousewheel to scroll the contents, without having to click and select something in the folder

That click, will cause multiple additional clicks, because if you accidentally click on a folder with the single click on, now you are inside the wrong folder having to go back... in this way having the single click in many cases cause additional clicks you would have never had, had you only the standard doubleclicking on, that i m trying to avoid

Again, Thanks, but i am looking for a workaround that beats most search results in Google

your helpful intent is appreciated though

i thought it would be more practical, to configure windows to work properly ( i thought i d hammer through it ), but all of the workarounds break something and seems like it s a house of cards and i don t like that feeling running my daw on windows, everything is so disorganized

    Anyhow,

So there is no difference when working inside a DAW, how you open and select items?

That may actually be okay, i just feel like i may just need to try Mac OS for a while

Enable and use the Navigation Pane in File Explorer. Click the folder name on the left once and it's contents are displayed in the main window. I set the view to Details to show more items and scrolling with the mouse works too.
You can even assign favorite locations or "Quick Access".

Can you navigate the folder on the right with the mousewheel, only by clicking on the folder on the left?

Asking bc that is what i have been trying to do, but i always have to select an item, or click in to a narrow empty space in that folder for mousewheel to work

Yes. Click once to select a folder in the left pane.
The mouse will scroll the contents of whatever window it hovers over. No need to press any additional buttons.

There's nothing messy about it. Go to Program and Features -> Control Panel -> File Explorer Options -> General Tab and check "Single click to open..." and "Underline icon titles...". You can use the arrows (left, right, etc) to navigate to different folders.

Seriously, trade all audioutopia and outdated plugins for a mouse wheel! And then stand in line complaining about no mac releases...
