I am kinda new to the filesharing scene I have uploaded some music samples using a premium filesharing site (Filsonic) I have been sent 3 DMCA take down notices which obviously means the 3 of my uploads contained illegal content. It has kind of caused abit of concern as I have a paid account which wasn`t purchased with my paypal details. But was by someone in my family, does this mean I`m banged to rights and I`m going to be prosecuted now or will i receive warning etc from ISP I`m from England so I don`t know how it all works I hope someone can share some light on this :(

    Thanks

Are those email from product's owners or from FileSonic? It would be better if you take some screenshots of those email *yes*

p/s: One more thing, dont worry much about that

Ok, dont worry about security of your own identity, i've got ton of these mails.
You just need to worry about FileSonic will delete your account if you repeatly re-upload the same abused files *no*

Hi pspfuntime & Thanks for your response to my post and sharing some light on this situation
You have slighty put my mind at ease to know that I`m not alone with receiving this type of notification I thought I may be in for a restless night so as long as I don`t reup these files again I won`t here any more than I already have via Fileonic?

yeah don't worry, courts have pretty much put a stop to personal copyright lawsuits these days they only chase companies or websites. If anyone is gonna get in trouble it will be filesonic. You can claim anyways it was for private backup and that someone has managed to shared your private links.
