    Hi,
I'm a music producer from India and recently I've started mixing stuff for local artists and bands. Currently, I've got a home studio setup which is small and I'm planning to build my own studio in my another house which has a spare room . I'll be doing the whole project myself coz firstly I don't have a big budget for the pro studio and secondly, there aren't any professionals in my city to hire them for doing the job. I'm attaching the pictures of my new room dimensions.[IMG]

Place 1 will be my mix position, Place 3 will be my left and Place 4 will be my right side.

We don't have rockwool easily available here so most of the "pro" studios use glasswool. I'm attaching some pictures I found online how it's done here. [IMG]

Please let me know if any one could help me out in this project. I deal with recording vocals, acoustic guitars and mixing.
I suck in explaining so sorry for being a noob.

in fact you should sit in front of longer wall, and also it's easier for treatment to put doors in the back,
so first thing to reconsider is "3" to be your mix position, "1" and "2" to be sides, "4" to be back,
then it's very important to decide if the room is supposed to be a mixing room, mastering room or recording room - I do not recommend doing all in one room, because for recording you should aim for dry room, for mixing you don't really need any special treatment, and for mastering you need acoustically balanced room

For smaller rooms you generally want to face the shorter wall, so that you can move out to have the listening spot at 38% from the short wall. Now this seems to be a bit bigger, so that doesn't seem to be a problem.

You generally want treated and flat room, regardless of control/mixing or mastering. For mastering it's however crucial to have a flat and linear frequency response.

  11. What are the dimensions of your room (including height) and where will the windows as well as electrical outlets be? It is always nice to see the lines so to better visualize the situation.

You can get some free acoustics advice on Ethan Winers forum
    http://forums.musicplayer.com/ubbthreads.php/forums/24/1/Ethan_Winer_The_Audio_Expert

Or you can hire him for direct advice on treatment. Very friendly man. You can also get a lot of free advice from his website if you haven't seen it before.

Also this book is supposed to be good and has info on how to build floating floor and walls if you want to go real pro.

    Hope this helps
