sister site is good for a lot of things. but the only problem i felt in the sister site is that the links get invalid after a few months or so and some awesome software get taken down due to DMCA requests, whereas in a Discord server i think the takedowns do not happen (and links as well if they are uploaded to a better service)

 

A chat servive with end-to-end encryption (eg utopia, even mega ) would be better than discord imo

 

@civilizedproducer nobody cares about piracy until your server becomes large enough that even plugin vendors themselves join it. You might get into a very big problem if you live in US, or european countries. Idk the full list tbh. If you get caught, forget removing the link, your entire server will be taken down. And you don't have a shitbit of control over how you group operates, since Discord owns your server technically. Then there will be 13 year olds which don't probably know the strings attached to these and will post links to your server everywhere. Discord is an American company, you probably know how strict American laws are. Thing is discord will have a complete log of your activities and that will hold as proof.

How will you copy the current system of warez, at a place you cannot trust? This site is living despite all inventions of 21st century. I see huge porn groups facing action everywhere, on Telegram, Discord, probably not punishment, who knows? Here whatever the system be, few people who are in this forum have COMPLETE control over what happens, and they have been maintaining this place since Discord was even an idea. I see a few similar threads for the same thing, hopefully the OPs of those threads will see this and rethink.

You maybe know the story of openload. Got fucked up so bad. Filehosters keep getting same treatment, ain't it a wonder this site and sister sit hasn't had to face any action leading to change of domain names, afaik? Truth is you won't be getting the type of control this site owner has anywhere else. Sites like these have a certain image in the scene and it maybe takes years of trust to build that sort of image.

Lastly, discord being free, without boosts and stuff is a FREE thing, do you know what info they possibly collect and gib it to FBI?

The "better" filehosters is a scam. "BETTER" filehosters want to keep their image nice and clean, they are big enough to not give an F about who you are, not to say they might be smart enough to already detect pirated content, which is why on "better" filehosters, links generally get taken down quickly

The biggest concern with such a server is that there is no way to know if the files being shared there have been tampered with. The releases on the sister site are posted by trusted sources, and any releases with malware get nuked immediately.

That is mostly not true. Most of the stuff on there have working links, even if the post was from years ago. It depends mostly on the developers and how active they are in taking down links.
In my experience, usually in the case of a post where the post itself was not taken down but its links were, the developers or the entities which handle the takedowns only care about the post for about a week after its release, or until it disappears from the front page. If the links were updated about a week after the post was made, they tend to stay alive. Also, it is much more fruitful to contact the Cleaner @Pirat and inform him of dead links, rather than commenting on the post. He is usually able to update the links within 24 hours.

That is entirely dependent on the uploaders. The rules mandate uploading files to Uploaded and Rapidgator, but don't prohibit anyone from adding links from any other service they prefer.

that's true, there is a good chance of malware getting downloaded through this method. the links issue i mentioned was about the file getting deleted from the file sharing service, usually what is left alive are Rapidgator links and i hate rapidgator for their annoying restrictions (i prefer uploaded, zippyshare and rockfile). i didn't know that i could message Pirat to add updated links, thanks for telling me that!

 

That is correct, unfortunately. Also, it's way harder to find leech sites for Rapidgator too.

This is true, but direct shares aren't much of an option anyway considering Discord limits file sizes at a measly 8MB.

I know that, even though most k'd software shows a few false positives. But if the source can be trusted, there's not too much to worry about.

 

There are many free sites that offer links for stuff that has been removed from sister site for any reason, or links that went dead.
Currently, I know about 17 of such sites specialized for audio, and a few non-specialized, mostly Russian.
To find them use Yandex search engine.

for that rutracker exists. almost everything major releases mirrored there.

 

You mean like a place for free handout? If you have some skill sets to patch plugs there may be a place but other than that for hand outs, stick with the sister site and be thankful
