As Sister has grown considerably over time, so has the diversity in music genres. That's just fantastic.
But with the ever growing spectre of instrument libraries, sound samples, styles, formats etc., I find browsing/searching
is becoming more time consuming and less uplifting.

So now my Sister URL is simply set to open "Kontakt libraries" instead of showing e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g new. Problem solved
and I am all smiles again.

Keep it going Sizz.., you're a beautiful site for hungry eyes!

So sorry you have to weed through free junk releases to get to free quality releases. You could just go directly to the dev's site and buy what you want without ever having to see an EDM release. geeze...

You sound like the old people at the senior center: always ranting about
"...the unfair world that's not what it used to be ...if I were 50 years younger...."
    the usual blahblahblah: so boring
Gyro, apart from complaining (because we hear only rant from you in here), have you ever done anything to improve the system?

The truth is that we dont see many rock-metal releases the past months and we didnt even see still some great plugins (like some nembrini stuff, Neural, STL Tonehub, GGD Zilla, and i ll mention even the ENGL savage which came out this week from PA)
But its something that is beeing OFFERED to us ! If its not there, we can't complain about it cause its free. Offcourse i'd like to see many, MANY realeases like those i mentioned, but hey, who would not like that ? We have to admit that we have more than enought BUT if someone says that the dont get happy with new releases, they are lying! It makes us happy to try out new thingys and its ok, it really is ! There is no problem if we don't get what is not ours. The problem occures when we demand it! Its ok to be waiting for something you d like to be realeased, but you cant blame someone, NOONE is obligated to offer us thing that we don't have.

Also , EDM and Trap/Hip Hop are the dominant genres for the last decade, its obvius that we ll see more releases of that genre.

Sorry for bad english, it not my native language.

What exactly are you "creating"? EDM producers don't "create" anything. The guys making the loop and soft synth patch libraries do. All you're doing is holding down the goddamn D key on your MIDI controller for three minutes.

I've found a wealth of good stuff for my likings when it comes to my music-making. And that is blues and soul orientated music. More than a few (good) bass guitars, drums, organs, horns, and some odd ones. Although I come here almost every day I'm not bothered by what is and what is not offered here. I'm thankful for what has been shared. And it has been said before: the number of libraries, VST's, etc do not determine the quality of what you produce.

I see this type of thread on lots of different forums, some entitled a-hole moaning about dumb horse doo doo.

The fact of the matter is people should be grateful for what they are able to enjoy, its all free and none of us are entitled to any of it.

Its a privilege and if you do not like what is there then you can go else where, it's that simple.

Really interesting discussion, it didn't occur to me that a lot of EDM producers depend on loops to the extent that is described here.
It would be pretty depressing if someone who actually does everything from scratch wouldn't stand a chance, and simply wouldn't been seen or heard, over people who just, to quote someone here, "press the d key for three minutes".

  19. I thought you were going to do the seniors bit:
"The food here is terrible. It's inedible. And such small portions"

Really don't think that's the case for most producers, and I really don't think you should listen to bitter musicians who don't actually do EDM, clearly hate the genre, don't know how it's made regarding how EDM songs are made. In my experience people who depends on loops packs and such to make their songs are often beginners learning the rope. There are dozens of tutorials about music theory for EDM producers that clearly demonstrate otherwise. They use the same scales, same music theory than any other musicians, no matter how pretentious they are.
In pop there isn't a lot of inventiveness either. A few notes borrow from a couple of scales, the chord progressions are rarely surprising (and they didn't invent those), no big "creativity" here. It's still music, heck sometimes good one.
No one is reinventing the wheel here, we are all doing the same thing.
Don't get me wrong there are a lot to say about loop pack. People should do their homework and learn the basic tools to make music. It's really not that hard, and if you want to do your own thing you have to go through it.
