    Help me..
Can I make Reaper editing work like Ableton's?

If I overlap one midi note on another, i want to delete the area of note which is under the note I placed. Same thing I need in Items.

Sorry for my bad english. I just want editing in reaper like in ableton or bitwig.

The "set note end to start of next note" is a legato action (so basicely if you have notes that don't overlap and have holes between them it will fill them and create a legato also for those), if you just want to cut overlaping notes you can use the "restrict polyphony" (eel)script/action which will do just that without joining the notes who have gaps between them.
For your other thing you can try "remove overlaps in selected items preserving item start"

Sorry... how exactly is this "like Ableton"?

You mean like setting it to legato in Live? Or is there actually a function to delete note overlaps?

I'm asking for my own curiosity, as someone who spends a lot of time in Live. I'm wondering if there's something there that I'm missing.

I only need to make media item and midi notes editing workflow in reaper like the way it is in ableton live. I never said live has function to delete note overlaps because notes does not overlap in Live. And I am used to that kind of workflow. Thats why I want to make Reaper to do this but couldn't find the exact answer. I like Reaper and I want to completely throw Live away.

dunno if i understand your needs correctly...
is it: 'Options' -> 'Trim content behind media item when editing' ?

    Or for midi.....
in the MIDI editor, try: Edit -> Set note ends to start of next note.
    (works on selected notes)
Is that what you're looking for ?

Theres also a script that can do this for selected notes.....
    restrict polyphony.gif
    Its found here
