Difference between Compressor & Distressor

    Distressor is both a compressor and a limiter but its originality is that it adds distortion to the source. It adds harmonic (odds or even) dynamicaly.

    @Talmi thx for the explanation!
    I read that Arousor is among the best, Disto should be a good alternative , right. Think i didnt manage to install yet, but i like to see what they are capable of, those „fairy dust“ distressors : ), same with transformer emulations, next generation stuff , at least seems like that.

    Imho, distressor is just a name for a gear which is both compressor with distortion/saturation, name like compresaturator by Airwindows for example
