I'm not impressed because the source track is extremely clean with good separation/space between the instruments/vocal. They always do this with separation app demonstrations. Can it do the same with a Black Sabbath song?

I realise that this is probably where the technology is right now but still, I think I'm allowed to express disappointment.

I don't quite understand your answer regarding a clean track. since 6.30, a very old recording with a sufficient amount of noise (digitization) - in this video there are 3 different tracks and one of them is very old and nevertheless the vocals separated very well. you need to watch the video to the end before writing any comments

What would really be interesting is a comparison to Virtual DJ and RipX instead of just stating DeMIX is the best.

Since you're new here let me explain something. We prefer such threads with additional infos like, do you recommend it and if yes, why, what's your personal experience, did you compare it to other plugins of the same kind, was it recommended to you, what's the price, the version, the min sys req? Things like that.
Maybe not all of these but you should provide some of them.

    And welcome to THE forum.

Cleaning very good stems is easy, it's akin to dusting a surface - I'm talking about music in which distortion particularly is a large element of each instrument, including the bass. Black Sabbath are a good example of this as both bass and guitar use heavy distortion which almost blends them into one instrument. It's possible to separate these instruments but there are lots of artifacts and the result isn't what I would call good. I think AI will eventually do a better job by adding missing information, maybe by matching the extracted stem with models of a particular bass and blending them together while removing the noise.
