    Hello,

I could use some help here.

I bought the "Arturia Analog Experience - The Factory" software, together with the dedicated MIDI-controller.

I had the cracked version from AiR installed before, so I have a license for Analog Factory sitting in the eLicenser control center already - together with a license for Cubase 6 Elements (legit).
So of course I would like to get rid of the "fake" license, and activate my legit one.

But how can I get rid of the AF license in the eLicense center, without killing my Cubase license?

The NFO in the AiR release says:

I can do that of course, but then also my Cubase license is gone.
If I try to activate Cubase again after that, it doesn't work.

Can you not copy your Cubase License to a dongle and register the dongle with Steinberg on a second operating system, along with any other licenses that you want to register. If you then lose your Cubase Licence you will be able to get it replaced, also I think if you do it that way, the fake licence won't show up in your soft licence on the second operating system. If you are that worried about it, you can then maybe re-install windows or what ever OS you use and then start from scratch.

I won't reinstall Windows just for that, but I will look up how it works if I'd need to install eLicenser again after a fresh OS install, maybe that will lead me to a solution.

I welcome any other ideas, though.

Actually there is an option in the eLicenser to remove a license - but it is alwas greyed out and inactive, no matter which license I select.

You could try this after you have registered your Dongle and legit licences with Steinberg on a second OS.

Try these steps to fix your disabled or broken Soft e-Licenser:

On your PC please go to C:\ProgramData\Syncrosoft\ and delete the file
named “SeLicenser.sel” in the Syncrosoft folder.

Then please follow these next set of instructions to create a new SeL.

    1. Please uninstall the Syncrosoft LCC. To do this, go to the Start menu
in Windows, Control Panel, Programs and Features, and remove the
    Syncrosoft License Control Center entry.

    2. Delete the folder ‘Syncrosoft’ from your Windows system partition in
    the ‘Program Files’ folder.

    3. Navigate to C:\ProgramData\Syncrosoft (delete the folder
‘Syncrosoft’). The ‘ProgramData’ folder is usually a hidden system
folder, you may need to adjust the Windows folder options to make it
visible. Skip this step if the ‘Syncrosoft’ folder cannot be found in:
    C:\ProgramData\ !

    4. Download the latest version of the Syncrosoft LCC to your desktop
    from syncrosoft.com downloads,
license control center, download for PC, and click save.

    5. Now start the command prompt by going to Start, Programs,
    Accessories, and select Command Prompt.

    6. Right click with your mouse on the Syncrosoft installer, and select
properties. Please note the path at “Location:”

    7. Now enter this path into the command prompt, and add
    SyncrosoftLicenseControlSetup.exe/regsel

    (example)
    C:\Users\(YourUsername)\Desktop\SyncrosoftLicenseControlSetup.exe/regsel

    8. After entering this, press ‘Enter’ and a new Soft-eLicenser will be
    created for you.

    9. Now, go to steinberg.net
MySteinberg and request a new activation code.

    I could finally fix it.

I deinstalled the eLicenser, and installed the newest version.

Then I wanted to reactivate Cubase, which you can do in your Steinberg account on their site.
But the problem occured, that there was no soft eLicenser on my system.

This seems to be a common problem, since there is an entry in the eLicenser FAQs (on the Steinberg site) about it.
They provide you a special installer, which solves this issue.

So after I deinstalled and installed the eLicenser again, I could reactivate Cubase without problems.

Many thanks for your help, twinny :mates:
