I have to pick this one up as well. Excellent work. Found this band by accidentally searching for Heresy, a Death-Thrash band but found this by accident along the way. Clicked on it because they have similar band font logos and album covers but then ended up loving them both.

As much as I love Heresy the band, Needless is top botch work as well!

 

This one is more progressive than I usually go but this has the most hypnotic lead guitars to contrast heavier parts. I just had to post this. Top work.

Hey @Donut Neamer, may be not a 100% match, but when I heard this track I immediately thought of "In Flames" with their old stuff.

 

@Kyrad thanks for the previous recommendation. Although I'm not an In Flames fan but that song was very similar and I actually like that one despite not liking the band that much. I'm obsessed with another Hypocrisy song after listening to this album 3 times since it came out a few days ago. The damn album is a masterpiece, you think you have another melodeath recommendation like it? I'm also not well versed in Melodeath yet.

Same, but it was worth a shot because they've been around for a while. That's the thing about Hypocrisy, their melodic tracks sound demented not pretty melodies from start to end. Maybe I am becoming more mellow in some ways but heavier in others but lately I've really been loving melodic track or two thrown in as long as I still get real death metal.

Some of them even have this cerebral quality to them which I've only found in a Nile record. Nile is another great example of making great melodic death metal but not making it sound lame. This is weird I used to never like melodeath but it took looking at old school death to find the good shit.

I love virtually every one of their albums and love their traditional death metal tracks but they have been the only ones so far to make their melodic tracks my favorite. Not because their traditional death content is inferior but because their melodic content is just on another level. They understand how to make it sound correct, unlike say a deathcore band haha

They have heavy material on every album which would fit into traditional death. But I quickly grew to be a Hypocrisy fan, just blown away at their skill. Makes me think aliens really did teach them all that shit! I mean who else would have?
