very cool sequencer, not only FM but you can sequence hardware easily, BT uses it today in his studio to run his hardware synths and you can use it even better and faster on special

It brings back memories of when I used Cool Edit Pro 2 around 2007-2008. :chilling:

Heh. A lot of oldies listed here. For DAW's I pretty much stayed away from anything that looked like a super-mario game or had moving bars of numbers filling the screen. Navigating those archaic interfaces was hard enough without throwing rolling staves of numbers at you. :woot:

'Throwing Rolling Staves Of Numbers At You' ... Almost as good as "I can't stand that Matrix Code shit flyin' by MAN!"...

All a tracker is & will be is a step recorder with interactive detailed digital readout....

Temper is fun, but it's obviously half-done as the dev stopped doing it years ago. Still, it's MIDI pipelines are a great way to mangle notes to come up with weird stuff. The VST version also works pretty well bridged still.

It was very inspired by Bars & Pipes for Amiga, available here https://www.amigaos.net/software/123/bars-and-pipes

The idea is that MIDI data goes into a pipeline, you add things in it and it processes it non-destructively. People have said that it was very clever & innovative, but I never had a MIDI interface to an Amiga, and I've not had luck with emulators w/ MIDI either.

But I think this is why Atari won the sequencer side because it had MIDI built in. Shame that they never had a sound chip as good as Paula in it.

Project Open Octave Studio, is the open source software for musicians to compose and create digital audio and is ideal as music production software as well as a Digital Audio Workstation (DAW).

With a 2011 version of Open Octave Studio already released, 2012 version development needs $50,000 so that professional developers can be included to provide more advanced features.

you should be able to run it in a windows 7 or XP virtual machine inside Windows 11. XP vm machine images are available on archive.org premade, just add the programs you want after configuring with in your virtual machine host. its pretty straight forward,

you laugh, but Mozart was badly injured by a "Rolling Staves Of Numbers" that misaligned and bounced off a wall in his studio, his actions became much more eratic after that, and he was prone to bouts of Polka improvisations for the remainder of his life.

it's one reason why CRT monitors had shatterproof glass screens, to keep "Rolling Staves Of Numbers" contained in the Digital Realm.

at the Corning Glass Works, CRT glass was referred to as "Mozart Glass" or simply "MG" until the LCD was reverse engineered from crashed off world vehicles, and their software reverse engineered creating "Ableton Lite" - and the modern scene was created.

This alone proves "R2R" are aliens, searching for the perfect song, traversing the universe for a perfect vibration..

Frinika is not very complete, have tried it... It's a combo piano-roll & tracker but very basic but the VSTi-VST implementation is the worst I have ever tried, I would not EVER bother with it...

Yeah, I had already mentioned MaCaW... However the most stable version is 3.01.21 plus it has the 64bit engine... Starting at 3.02 it was back down to 32bit engine & also NAG screens for many operations...

BeRoTracker quite cool is tracker & piano-roller... Much in the way of envelope drawing with different interpolations... I like it better than Psycle-
