Happy New Year to All Audiosexuals!!!
Is there a DAW app for iPhone that includes sound generators/synthesizers that work like a PC DAW (Ableton) and stock/VST plugins?

Yeah also Garageband would be the native app, Korg Gadget is meant to be very good also (annoyingly only on Iphone is the latter)

Apple's free Garageband is worth a try, but don't expect miracles on iPhone

Drambo for the DAW, it's insane what it can do. It's a fully modular environment which has a fair bit of difficulty curve, but there's no need to dive that deep. The sequencer side is very Ableton-esque with probabilities, clips and scenes etc. It can host AUv3 plugins so instead of building your own synths you can bring your own, get the AudioKit freebies and you're sorted to start. And it can function as an effect/MIDI processor inside other software.

Now for plugins there's too many to list but things I end up using Korg Gadget. Gadget is a sequencer too with clips and scenes but for that it's a bit fiddly on an iPhone. However the gadgets are AUv3 plugins so you can use them with Drambo, that's what I do. But you if you can get along with the sequencer side it's a fully contained sequencing environment. Also can export to Ableton, either with rendered audio clips or MIDI, if you got the Gadget plugins on the computer you can use those too.

Garageband is solid if you prefer that kind of a thing, and it's free so get some free plugins and start there first. I personally find it too fiddly on the iPhone but maybe it works on the larger ones OK. It can export to Mac Garageband and Logic so that might be key for you.

Cubasis I haven't used but some people really like it, maybe worth a shot.

Thanks mates. Are projects transferrable from the apps to PC. Has anyone used Ableton Note?

Yes. Note works flawlessly with desktop, Its awesome. Another one worth looking into is Koala sampler. Absolutely amazing app. Simple, but very powerful. I use both Note and Koala daily. One or the other depending on what i feel like that day, as they are very similar.

If i had to recommend one, I would say Koala, butttttt, while you can export an ableton live session out of Koala, its strictly audio within the session. Not a deal breaker, but with Note you can open a set in ableton, and boom, theres all your synths, effects, midi etc, ready to be tweaked away.

Also, seconding drambo, its one of my all time favorite apps. Although, im not sure about on an iphone, it may be tricky to work with the screen size.
