Hello guys. I was wondering if there is any alternative eq that comes close to either UAD's version of BAX or Plugin Alliance's. I'm really not looking on spending 250€ for a plugin atm as I'm building a new studio PC, but I do really like the smoothnes of the eq that you can get with BAX.

 

Smoothness... I don't know how Bax sound like. But TDR VOS Slick Eq is a great choice considering price.

If it's a parametric EQ then it's just another digital EQ and they are all the same. Because it's just math and things can't work differently in a digital world, you can achieve the same result with your daw built in EQ and a Saturator.Read this http://ericbeam.com/?p=361

I'm pretty sure I could do it with a PEQ no doubt about that. But BAX Eq by uad and pa is actually an hardware emulation and it gives some kind of that vintage feel to it. Maybe its just my brain but even so, It would probably take ages to match BAX EQ settings in a PEQ tbh.
