I feel pity for the non-audio people that will never understand how utterly hilarious Dan Worrall is. He's like the Bill Hicks of the audio world. Pure gold.

How does the math work for the continuous slope adjustment in minimum phase/"analog" mode?

Given that real world resonators, whether physical or electrical don't do this...

    Totally biased? Not...

He said at the start that he was biased towards FabFilter and why, repeatedly. Dan also pinted out what in his opinion were strengths & weaknesses of both.

Take Sound Radix Alignment series as an example. After years of development & testing, they finally have a process that achieves what has been previously claimed. Along with excellent phase cohesion resulting in greater artifact reduction.

I have not been impressed by Kirchhoff's EQ curve selection and Dan, pointed out one of many possible reasons. Selecting the default EQ curve behavior in the plugin settings. Will give this a try in an upcoming session to see if there is any positive benefit.

FabFilter products were rough around the edges at the start but now, after 10 years or so, are much more refined and easy to use.

I really like Kirchhoff but i still end up instinctively reaching for Pro-Q, both are absolutely fantastic products. I think it really comes down to what you're looking for imo

Sorry to say, but TBTECH are pure liars and copycats! Liars in terms of their claimed "satisfies even the most demanding ears" bullshit claim of 117bit processing. Like many have stated before, there is zero, 0, "NULL" difference in the output. I've even gone so far and compared the rendered wav digital output audio stream of 117bit processing (in/out) with a diff tool: they are exactly the same, bit per bit.
This defined TBTECH as convicted liars to me which renders thier wohle company - and products - uncredible.

117 bit is slightly less noisier than 64, as I measured. Just several dBs. But you will not get that much difference, especially if you render as 64 bit float. You can't produce audio at more than 64 bit and render at this bit depth.

How to see that small quality boost? As example, plugin doctor, harmonic analysis, add Kirchhoff eq's a lot of same boosts at highs, hundreds of dBs, now switch 117 vs 64, and yeah, small difference is there.
Yeah if render as 24 or 32 bit, it will not show you difference. How you get the difference of 64 bit vs 117 , if you limit your audio to 24 or 32 bit? the difference just dissapears...silence
Maybe this works, but in an extended audio resolution. Here we will not get a lot of difference, because our audio has maximum limit of 64 bit.
In this scenario, Kirchhoff just add headroom, more noise level, but input and output is again 64.....this 117bits just add very small, tiny quality.
Just useless, but this works. In our floating point 32 bit or 64 bit audio environment it does 0.000001% quality, maybe less.

About curves: compare Kirchhoff vs equilibirum. Some same curve models are different...
