    Nice GUI.
Lets see if it can replace Kick 2.

Just watched the demo video. They should've named it VKR - Virtual Kick Rack:boombox:

Meh, I don't think so. It lacks of visual envelopes. that's something I love in Metrum and Kick(2). The demo seems to have less presets than the full version. And those presets are... ok, but somewhat boring. I'd like to have them genre sorted, and the names of the presets are awkward.
Metrum or Kick2 are straightforward. Punchbox seems to be more "funny", especially for eurorack/modular fans.

Besides, gui is nice, sound is excellent, export as sample is darn easy. You should have a look for yourself!

Very good looking GUI, too bad it's only dedicated to kick drum.

Hm, just tested this one and Kick 2 the first time and as newbie to these plugs I can say:
Kick 2 has better (looking) possibilities to modify the kicks and make your own stuff while PunchBox
sounds a bit better and more natural (in the kick drum nature). Kick 2 also has the possibility to create
snares and stuff like that while PunchBox just is for Kicks atm. If I would have to buy one of these,
I would buy PunchBox somewhere in future, wehn it also supports snares, hats etc. cause of its nice sound.

PunchBOX has just been updated to version 1.0.1. This is a hotfix to the crashes occurring on some specific configurations involving 32-Bit plug-in formats. The problem affected Mac OS X as well as Windows users.

    Great GUI.
Can someone build a hardware version of this plug-in, and ask Steve slate to code a perfect emulation of that hardware, and add it to the virtual rack family ?
Will the emulation sound as good as the hardware version of the software ? Who knows.

I remember trying that out ages ago. You only had to look at it the wrong way and it would crash, it was so temperamental.
    That Gui was awesome though.

I'm on 1.1.2.0. Totally stable here.
D16's stuff is always aesthetically glorious.

You could always load Softube's ModularFX after it and then it's not so focused.

Too bad this is for kicks only. For that purpose, I'll stick with KICK 2. I'd love a piece of software like this but for more complete drums (and with a pattern editor). Still, cool looking plugin.

KICK 2 definitely has a lot of possibilities. You can even make new sub harmonic content for it (either by modelling other sounds or by entering data from mathematical sequences). I've been playing with KICK a lot lately (working on an expansion) and I can say: it has a lot of potential.

KICK 2 does seem more flexible.

That Sine Generator in PunchBOX allows for some quick and dirty synthesizing of electro-type drums. I got a pretty twisted crash using that, the bitcrusher and some distortion in less than a minute. To be fair, I did go into it with the goal of creating a cymbal sound. Still, pretty cool considering I haven't touched the Click/Tops/Tools/Filter/EQ or sampling features.

For real. I get that it's going for a modular vibe. But who wants some grimey old module when they could have a clean/new one?
