I’ve recently begun swapping between Cubase 12 and 13 pro…and they’re so similar that you can swap projects back and forth between them even! I’ve never seen that with a DAW before without oodles of things being disabled or missing.

anyway, every few days I start to get a lag on my input. Last time it happened I realized I had the audio priority and asio guard level set to normal, and that was that no problems for about a week, now it’s happening again in both 12 AND 13 and I can figure out why I’ll post setup photos here if I can, never tried

 

I'm currently using Cubase 14 and used it for a long time since Atari ST days.
I don't use the □ Activate ASIO-Guard so try without as your Asio-Guard Latency is 92.880ms
mine is 0.000ms and probably not needed. Try with Direct Monitoring on (ticked) or off (unticked), mine is ticked/enabled but upto you.
Also try Clock Source Internal and see if that makes a difference.
A lot of latency issues comes from Wi-Fi or Network Adaptor being enabled during music production so you can use a program to see if you're having any issues not Cubase related using

Thanks for the suggestions samsum, I guess I never thought to change the asio guard since I’ve been using Cubase for so long, not Atari st long but at least 25 years, and I’ve never unchecked that box! I did however just start routing a WiFi hotpot stream through the computer for some…interesting reasoning…that too could very well be the culprit then. Thanks again!

 

So, this is going to sound really dumb…it turns out the issue was only with battery 4, which is usually what I start projects with so of course it was an immediate problem…loading even different drums like groove agent works great. I have battery set to 8 stereo outputs and had too many plugins running on seperate channels I BELIEVE was what was causing it, not positive yet. I tried everything you suggested and it either made no difference or when turning the asio guard off it couldn’t keep up cleanly playing any vsts without glitching. I have a few ideas to try still but I think I just won’t be able to use glitch 2 on multiple battery tracks, if I want to keep using battery…but well over a 15 years of making drum samples and mapping them to battery kits would really really suck to have to start anew with a different drum vst. I don’t even know if any other drum plugins with as much flexibility as battery except for possibly kontakt which I never really cared for. Intakt was super fun for drums though! I understand why they stopped making it though considering how much more advanced battery. Anyway I’m babbling now, thanks for the help! Oh and if you DO know of any other super controllable drum sample vst let me know!

 

No probs... You could drag samples I believe into Groove Agent and save them there but sounds like it will take some time... possibly some tutorial on YouTube for showing that or maybe Import into Maschine. Think latest Battery was v4.3.1 by bobdule on sister.
