    Hello all,

I am happy to announce that today we have released the Cubase Pro 8 and Cubase Elements 8 trial together with Cubase Elements 8 full version.

Like previous versions Cubase Elements 8 Trial will install a trial license automatically, so there is no need to request a separate activation code.

You can also find both trials on the following link:

    You forget the following informtion!

For the Cubase Pro 8 Trial you require a USB-eLicenser. With host applications such as Cubase, Cubase Artist, Nuendo and WaveLab, a USB-eLicenser is already included in the product package. Otherwise, you may purchase a USB-eLicenser from our Online-Shop or your local dealer.

Wow, that's crazy they require you to buy their dongle just to try the demo for the Pro version. I'm aware that some plugins require iLok to try their demos too, but I'm pretty sure iLok's are much more common for someone to have than an eLicenser. Alot of products use iLok's where as the only 2 companies I can think of off the top of my head that use eLicenser are Steinberg & reFX.

I was actually lookin forward to givin Cubase Pro 8 a test run because I've heard some good things about it but nevermind that.

Hi guys the cubase pro 8 is juste a revolution so if you already have some plugin work with the Steinberg dongle try it !!
i use cubase since 2 years now and i really like this daw for a lot of thinks :

    -folder track
    -track version
-time stretch & pitch shifting (HQ)
-sound are really really good in record & playback (32 bits)
-media bay with auto stretch when you search loops ;)
    and more !!

    Try it !!

    Good for you Steinberg!

But after using a cracked Cubase version since the Atari 1040ST era untill latest cracked Cubase 5 (I even used Pro-12 and Pro-24) I discoverd Studio One!
So I think you can put your USB-Elisencer in a place where the sun never shines! :bleh:

Sorry, I had to say it, I didn't know what was coming over me.... :dunno:

Regardless of how good you think Cubase is, I'm almost certain NO ONE will buy a dongle just to demo a piece of software, especially considering all the decent DAW alternatives around.
The idea is ridiculous, especially considering the soft eLicenser alternative which is at their disposal, but not being used for demoing (unlike iLok whose software-only alternative is often used by companies for demo purposes (Soundtoys, Eventide etc.))

    I know Elements not as sexy as Pro, but;

"The free Cubase Elements 8 trial version runs for 30 days without any limitations. No registration is required. Just download, install and start recording, editing and mixing your music in exceptional quality. And the Cubase Elements trial version runs without a USB-eLicenser."

    Version comparison chart:

    http://www.steinberg.net/en/products/cubase/line_up.html

But does this have some wierd security in demo? Like write to MBR or somethings?

    Absolutely.

And I agree with everyone that having to use a dongle for a demo is nothing short of absurd. :bleh:
