They're serious about no more dongle? Why did they have to make it sound like that? It sounds like a fuckup before you even find out what a fuckup it is. That's why dongles have a me too movement.

 

You know there's gonna be some serious tolling-bell movement when R2R makes Steinberg's bojangles Dangle..
Like no more intimate protection, we're the cats that Copy and Scratch..

My coffee disappeared out my mouth earlier. Sounds like when chicks want meat but don't want to eat so they keep driving past the popular fast food chain straight on home where they male resides.

That's what everyone does with the dongle too if you think about it. Everyone is trying to avoid making your computer suck it's usb cord for a small fee cause your PC don't fuck with escorts that keep you from the real thing for free.

I have looked on the Facebook page for Steinberg and apparently this isn't for the dongle, so no we won't be getting rid of the dongle anytime soon...I am getting fed up of this and I am really starting to hate cubase...purely for the dongle...as much as I like using Cubase

Does anyone want to buy Cubase 11 Pro off me?

do you really think steinberg acquired syncrosoft, the rights to use their technologies, as well as new solutions projects and a team of syncrosoft core employees, paying huge sums of money, and less than 15 years later decided to abandon the use of these assets to protect their flagship products?

Of course they will not abandon Syncrosoft, they will make just Cubase and Nuendo to use soft elicenser instead the dongle, they have done that with Groove Agent, HALion, The Grand....
I mean they developed new Download Assistant app which corelates with elicenser etc. From past months elicenser.net doesn't exist on its own anymore, but lately redirects to the Steinberg site where are all the elicenser downloads. Perhaps, that is "changing identity"...

 

it's just because steinberg completely bought all trademarks and technologies of syncrosoft.

I can't believe in this... maybe steinberg will add supporting for "cloud" authorisation (something like lilok cloud and for 1 computer only) to cubase and nuendo, but dongle authorisation will be a primary method of authorisation.

 

They will make for sure some cloud authorization, just like iLok,but without dongle. I was thinking about that when they said ditching the dongle, and that will be available thru Download Assistant, in redeem section... But we have to wait until tomorrow or maybe day later to see.


Edit : I am thinking something, since by now we could use Legit Cubase on dongle, and all Team VR licenses on softelicenser without any consequences and perhaps that was a big lost for company, they will make Cubase legit apps on softelicenser too, so you can not use anymore k'ed licenses with legit software, and that will be good prevention since they will have force users to register softelicenser to use all benefits of legit software. And in that mathematics they will be less in lost because two softelicenser cannot exist on one pc. Now is just authorization for legit users what have them make problems to resolve and make it in reality without getting k'ed.

Don't worry, how things in the world are going, that will be implemented in very near future... But that is another subject, not for Cubase thread :D

 

on the same day, work on cracking cubase will begin. and if other applications using softelicenser have been cracked, cubase will also be cracked.

only if you have one installed windows os. and... I'm not sure, but I think it's possible using two different user accounts for two softelicensers at one installed windows os... but I'm not sure because using macos only about 10 years =)
