I might have foolishly bought an update to Cubase 7.5 without actually having Cubase installed. Can I make a trial version a legit 7.5 or am I just a sorry fool?

 

Unfortunately You need the previous Legit version of Cubase installed Before you update Cubase
(Cracked Version will not work with the 7.5 update ) I don't Know About The trial version
but u can ask Cubase Support : http://www.steinberg.net/en/support.html
Maybe if you are lucky they will give you a deal but You have to explain to them your situation
or you can search on eBay or some sort website About someone Willing to sell his Cubase Legit License

Try to buy a cubase 7 already used...as new cubase 7 sold today are entitled to the 7.5 upgrade you bought for free
Cheaper way...
I was using a cracked cubase 5 and i waited till a cubase version was appealing enough to make me spend my euros...version 7 did... you won't regret it
