I've been installing the worst junk for years and I've always had SIP disabled: my machine is perfectly fine: what is supposed to happen to me that hasn't happened yet? (the computer is online 24/7)

 

Perhaps it may be that some people might visit sites of a less reputable nature is the only thing that might be of concern?

 

Could you elaborate that? you mean applications that call home to provide my personal data? I use firewall: any connection is blocked if not deliberately approved by me

 

Some people go to porn sites and succumb to clickbait. The Internet has plenty of articles indicating that this is a common place for all kinds of unsavory malware. No firewall is ever 100% secure. If it was, everyone would have the same firewall.

 

The point is, that system files can also be modified which could reduvce the reliability of the whole system. To get sure things stay 100% working some prefer to keep the base system as it should. Maybe that to oversensitive anyone need to decide themselves.

The solution would be to disable SIP while running the daw, enable it when not simple no? which reminds me......
