Costs nothing to try (thanks to the letter R, the numeral 2 & our friends at the sister site) There are a bunch of others (i think SoundForge has one, or maybe its SpectraLayers - some Sony/Magix product), but it's a tough thing to strip. Like @SineWave mentioned, gating is a part of it, but reverb is not just tails -- it's there throughout, has all the same harmonic components of the dry source and... It's like trying to separate one voice from a choir.
I've been extremely happy with SPL De-Verb. I use it to remove (well, reduce) the room from spoken word recordings. It is very transparent if the source audio isn't terribly roomy and you don't have to push the algorithm too far. I can't believe how much headache this little plugin has saved me. And it works real time too!!11 https://www.plugin-alliance.com/en/products/spl_de-verb_plus.html This combined with waves NS-1 and you can make ok sounding close miked spoken word recordings even in a non-treated noisy room by turning just two knobs. It's like magic. Last edited: Jan 13, 2018
