Hahahah. Besides the real, nowadays every trick to make look hotter (today that means very thin&tall) is in use It's very likely he is. I hate it as a person with my guts because I'm a Barcelona football fan. But in this matter he has all my support. Meaning he probably has to do all this things before saying is gay. Having rent-a-belly children , get top-models as girlfriends,... There's a lot of homophobia & money involved. Well, like they say, couples by interest of both.

I'm Spanish and he has been playing (living) here like 8 years. You can't help hearing and reading things over the years. Like I said I fully support him in this department (and whoever gay/lesbian person who'd suffer homophobia). But is very likely he's gay. Can't be sure though and really don't care much.
