Although I love country music I don't have a "favorite".
I hope you don't mind me posting my take on the genre.

@Mods: if this is not allowed sorry and delete the post.

I liked it. Country music is a big thing in Ireland and this sounded very much like Irish country music to me.

Yeah, that's not country, it's 70's folk rock.

Louvin Brothers is the original and best though. The whole album might be my favourite country album. Unlike Hank the third, you really get the sense that Ira and Charlie believe in him and fear his power.

Also, the various Hanks seem to get worse with each generation. Are you sure Hank done it this way?

    Again, the original and best:

Finally, in his book on the subject, Dylan Jones makes a fairly compelling case that this is the best song ever written.

I didn't know any of that, so thanks for bringing it to my attention. Never heard of Louvin Brothers but I like it. I love both Hank Williams' music past and later.

@BuntyMcCunty God, that crunchy lead tone is so damn good. I have a strat here and I think I could probably get this tone. Any idea what types of distortions produce this warm rock crunch? Also want a Telecaster so bad. Such a versatile guitar. I'm a metalhead but some days I jam out some country too, nowhere near knowledgeable on the subject though.

First thing you posted that made me even remotely crack a smile like napped up software from the sister site. Congrats cause I cannot possibly dislike David Allan Coe. A song about letting slores know they can't abuse you. Can't disagree with that. :)
