What is the best way to copy large numbers of photos from my iPhone 11 to my Windows 10 pc?
I’ve connected the two using the lightning/usb cable and have tried both drag & drop and importing (via the Windows photo app) - but both methods fail miserably. Seems that the connection to the iPhone times out.

Just log into your iCloud account, choose which pictures/files you want to download and click download. They will be downloaded as one .zip file.

Another reason not to buy Apple crap. How fucking complicated can you make it to access files from your phone on a PC? On Android it's as simple as drag+drop cause the phone shows up as mass storage. Be sure to use a Google-less custom ROM like LineageOS.

And you can also try Coolmuster iOS Assistant, which can help you transfer data including photos from iPhone 11 to Win10 computer directly via a USB cable. With its help, you can export large numbers of photos from your iPhone to your pc.

I wonder how Apple has sold so many iPhones to Windows users, if you can't even send media, photos, and other files to your computer.

no access to phone from Windows = no malware transferred from Windows,

Android phone being "open" to user as folder structure is actually bad thing for majority of dumb users

read the original first post again. this thread was spam in the first place, and recently necro bumped. by someone else who is spamming too. They find an old thread and reply instead of making a new one, which would be more obvious.

"With its help" ? Nobody writes things like that.

Why should Apple iOS make data transfer easier on Windows? It does not make sense.

You can but you need some extra Software like CopyTransManager, because via Itunes it is fucked up. What i hated about Apple is that it was not able to download stuff directly from the Browser only via extra app that was why i switched back.

The only good thing about iOS compared to Android is the Audio Latency.

@RobertK Download CopyTransManager or you can try AirDroid Personal.

Because its 2023 and iTunes is Sync not Copying. I know they do it to sell you also an Macbook or Mac and so on they want you in their eco system. And if you are it works well but they charge you the premium Apple Fee.

By the Way most people that i know which use Highend Phones just use them for Socials, Photos and Calling they just have the phone because it looks good and it is the newest one they don't use their full Potential.

The correct way to manage pics and videos from your iOS device on a PC is to use iCloud. Obviously space on iCloud has a cost, info:

I would never ever upload any personal Photos or Videos to any Cloud which is not self hosted. But just my opinion.

if you root the device you will have filesystem access and can transfer files whatever way you want, without itunes even installed. There are many free "file manager" apps on either platform. This is like saying I can't send files from my Pixel to my Macbook. Or having to buy an app to do it.
