Here's a promt answer - try them both (or a bunch of guitars) and pick the one you like. Yairi, Martin, old japanese (red label) Yamaha, Morris, Jagard, Gibson, etc etc.

  4. Baxter is succinct and to the point, and if you have the opportunity to try out many different guitars, I wholeheartedly agree you do so. Even the same model guitar will have tonal variations within their range. No two snowflakes are the same and in the world of wood, glue and steel the same applies. The only time this rule would change is if the maker uses carbon composite materials as in some high art cellos (and guitars) that mimic old masterpieces and that are made today. They maintain their tone and playability through different climatic changes of humidity, temperature and elevation and will sound more or less the same for each and every piece made. You can clean them with glass cleaner and they will sparkle as new each and every day. The fellow in the linked video dropped his guitar off the stage he was performing on, super glued it back together and is still playing it live after five years. Try that with your Taylor. Check it out
