i made it on the mac to authorize S1... and on my pc (with touch screen) to block the S1 remote
then follow the steps that presonus gave (in my precedent posts) to clear S1 settings etc....
it should work... At least that's how i made it work.

Just tested this on my system and I can confirm it works:

    - R2R Studio One 4.1 running on Windows 10
    - Latest version of remote running on Android tablet

On windows the Hosts file was already blocking the presonus websites. I then went into my modem (Fritz!Box) and made a filter that blocked the same presonus websites to be accessed by my tablet.

It takes a few seconds to connect, but then it works!

Great :D which address that you block via your modem to make the remote work.. is it the registration, api or update?

I edited the hosts file on my rooted phone to block registration.presonus.com and now the app works without any need to use phone as wireless hotspot with mobile data turned off. I couldn't find a way to block a specific site via my router configuration settings.

    So basically:
    1. Use latest R2R version that is already patched to not call home
    2. Block registration.presonus.com on phone by editing hosts patch. Non rooted phones can use this app to block https://f-droid.org/en/packages/org.jak_linux.dns66/

great to know hosts file system works also on phones....
Modifying hosts file system is the better way to go... cause it doesn't affect at all you internet connection and u can use it freely.
connecting and disconnecting internet connection each time u wanna work is just a pain where i think...
just to line do modify in text edit and it's done....

I read all posts, downloaded DNS66, read how to edit host in win 10 and nothing happend.
Do I need enter 0.0.0.0. or 127.0.0.1 before registration. presonus. com or something else?

Alright, so I tried a bunch of things. Edited my hosts files on windows and used dns66 on android, blocked presonus directly on my router... But I still get the "studio one is not activated on you computer" error.

Anyone got the remote working with 4.1.3?

(I tried with an older version I had, 3.5.6, and it works flawlessly)

create a blacklist in your router, (example for Fritzbox) in the category: internet-> Filter-> List and Blocked Internet sites (blacklist) edit, add these sites: registration.presonus.com, updates.presonus.com, api.presonus.com
and all devices in your router are the mentioned websites are blocked for in and out traffic.

Thanks for the response, yeah that's what I did yesterday before posting here.

I did a bit more tests, I tried with the remote on other iOS devices and other windows devices too I always get the same result.

Studio one 3.5.6 + remote on other device = working
Studio one 4.1.1 or 4.1.3 + remote on same device = working
Studio one 4.1.1 or 4.1.3 + remote on other device = not working

Did you do anything else than block the 3 hosts?

I added teh 3 hosts today to my router's blacklist. Not sure it this was why it is now working. I havent done further tests

When it does not work by putting the URLs in the blacklist, like with ASUS routers, you could try to put following 3 IP addresses in your router's Blacklist with Port Range 80 and Protocol TCP (located at something like Firewall > Network Services Filter)
    174.129.240.54
    107.21.120.64
    54.243.167.108
Mind that it could take a little longer for the iPad to connect to Studio One but this will most likely work (if the IP addresses stay the same).

Alternatively, you could also forget about the whole blacklist thing and make an adhoc (computer-to-computer it is also called) WiFi network on the host machine with Studio One. When you connect to that with the iPad you will also have a perfectly working remote control. On your host you will need an ethernet connection connected to the LAN.

Personally was only able to get it to work by adding the URL's to my ipad host file. Luckily i have a jailbroken ipad on 9.3.5 so i can edit the host file very easily. Much easier for me in my opinion.
