hi,i am following a tutorial in cm 209 house track builder.
in the first part of it they are dointhe kick
i am using cubase 14 pro, they used ableton.
i done exactly what they done and used same plugins same settings but my kick does not sound the same.
there is a wierd noise in the high. they done a boost in the high which i followed exactly.
i have included the audio.i have included 3 audio files.
1 is with the wierd sound in high, one with the high no high eq the other is the finished kick cm mag included in their downloads.
if someone could explain why mine sounds like it does it would ease my mind! hehe

The amount and/or sound of the transient, body, boom, umph and tail length is all subjective and contextual to the song/track you are creating. With no context or reference sound, we have no idea what is "wrong". Just design/mix your kick to sound good with what you are working with.
Maybe not the answer you wanted, but that's how most of us work.

this is a link to the video tutorial from CM209: https://s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/...k/vault/000001/CMU209/House_Track-Builder.zip

It is using Audiorealism's ADM drum machine plugin, CM version which is usually a free giveaway plugin version. Actually all the plugins are. Wolfram, eareckon cm-equa 87 parametric eq, sknote Snap, Toneboosters Barricade Cm version.

They are hawking the plugins that they were given free versions of by the developers. The video is from 2014, which is the same year Sonic Academy Kick v1 was released.
