Hi people. I am composing and recording a full 90min score for the indie movie from Croatia.
The movie should be kinda dark, balkan criminal, a bit neon and the music should be a big part of the story - carrying the tension and resolving it. We got funded for the project, and I thought buying AKAI Force would be a good thing for simultaneously watching the movie and pressing the buttons and faders on Force, instead of dealing with the automation and drawing the chords in Ableton. However, integration with Ableton is basically just clip launching, mixing and eventually changing the parameters of VST plugins. I could also take the project from Ableton and import in into Force, but it is not synced in real time with Ableton, and I can not simultaneously control the video and the parameters of all the audio clips and audio clips. I would love to use both Ableton and Force in both their full power, so is the best way for this just simply using the Force as a MIDI device, and mapping it fully how I like it? Or is there a better and more creative way, where it will really be possible to compose music on the spot, without going thousand times into the clip and changing the automation.

I'm asking because I also want to know how you people do it with our home studios. I believe Hans Zimmer and Trent Reznor have a slightly different setup and people helping them out probably, but this is an individual process, so what (in your opinion) should be the most creative and most time saving way to do it?

I know Force's 1st main feature is that it is a Standalone (I also bought it because i perform a lot), but there must be more ways to use it in a creative way which suits this project.
