I have a few requirements, being somewhere to store my entire DJ and Rekordbox collection, so have about 1.2TB of music and files stretching back a couple of decades or more. I also tend to store backups of various things in the cloud too, such as Kontakt libraries, software, plugins, and so on. On top of these, there's also the more general stuff people store in the cloud, like photos, videos, and so on.

I currently have a 16TB Pro III MEGA account, which is costing me about $30 per month, and I want to try and change this out for a cheaper option. I currently have about 7TB of data in there to migrate, so not making use of the full 16TB. It's mostly made up of music files, project files spanning years, as well as stuff detailed above.

Any better or cheaper alternative available at the moment, which allows the backing up of files as an upload, delete locally, and forget option, as opposed to live backups of a machine and its connected drives (such as Backblaze).

the only good cloud storage is NO cloud storage. Save the $$ you're dumping on insecure and volatile "cloud storage" and get yourself a large HDD or NAS.

That's OK until your house burns down or someone burgles your home.

Am I getting the math wrong? ~ $7 per TB and month would result in ~$49 for 7TB per month. He's now paying $30 for 16TB per month, for which wasabi would demand $112.

something like Synology NAS would be so much cheaper, and you would have full control and 24/7 fast access to your files at your place,
they optionally offer cloud C2 Storage with some kind of dynamic caching to offload only frequently accessed files (no experience with that, but looks cool on paper)

Then store if offsite or in containment that is fireproof. "Cloud storage" is just an invitation to disaster and you're paying dearly for it. To be quite honest, anyone who "burgles your home" is NOT interested in your "files" and/or "mp3 collection" - they are after stuff they can turn over fast like cash, guns, drugs, jewelry, etc... Your disembodied hard drives are the least of their concern... I mean, you all can do what you want - it's still a "free" country, but IMO, "cloud-anything" is just another way for capitalists to profit off the scare and fear tactics put across to the masses by the mainstream media...
