Have never given the cloud "AI" a second thought because it's ludicrous to me. If it's something that can be run locally and it's <USEFUL> I'll give it a whirl... But my thinking about cloud "AI" is still the same as when Adobe first started with up with the "generative fill" (along with a few other things) nonsense some years back (that they still continue with to this day btw...) that REQUIRES a subscription and internet connection for graphic/video production. This all because Adobe wants the public to believe that their "AI" needs datacenter server power do its thing. We all know that is B.S. by now I hope since there are several third party solutions out there doing LOCALLY with no net connections what ADOBE still insists you need to pay for cloud access to do.... It's the same for all media based "AI" production gimmicks.

Not really a "beato" fan but he makes some interesting points here that reinforce my thoughts on the whole "AI" scenario from years ago...

Humanity will regret AI bitterly, it is the absolute wrong way.

when sonarworks released SoundID VoiceAI, it was cloud only. I emailed them asking why it was cloud only, that I was interested in purchase but only if it could be ran locally. They replied with a load of shit that the process was far too advanced for the everyday users computer. I replied, letting them know I run generation locally on my computer in seconds with no problem, and that they know its possible, and are losing customers by forcing cloud. They didn't reply, but fast forward a few months, and they released a local, non subscription version. I guess I wasn't the only one who wrote in.
