Fair enough. See, the thing is: which Beatles period are you looking to emulate? - 'cos on Peppers they literally used an orchestra on some of it... if it's the early/mid stuff, it's pretty much self-evident: mono channels for drums, bass, guitar, lead vox, backing vox, piano, organ - leaving one spare for mono-bounce if you need it - that's 8 tracks. You could set up a template like that (mono for each part, with a few abbey road (type) plugins (pre-amp, eq, tape emulation etc) on each channels' inserts, something similar on the main buss and a spring reverb, maybe a phaser/flanger on sends) in about 30 minutes, tops. Unfortunately (for you at least) i use cubase, otherwise i'd whip you up a template for you myself right now. :knock:

    Ooookay...
I'll do that for you in a Logic template, @tommyzai
And have u got the Waves Abbey Rd plugs too, or not?
It's been a few weeks since I first mentioned them! lol

It will at least be a few days until I can give it time though.

Which version of Logic are you on?
Just incase I have to do it for you with just native Logic plugs...

You are so right. I guess I'm looking for the mid-Beatles pre-Pepper sound a la 1965/66 . . . Help/Rubber Soul/Revolver, but taking some liberties by using 8-tracks as they did later on.

Dang! Bad time to let my Cubase license expire. Luckily, Smoove Grooves uses Logic. Thanks, My Friends. Much appreciated. Who knows . . . maybe in the future I can do a more authentic classroom lesson with a bunch of 4-tracks. Until then . . . Logic Pro X project template with an Abbey Road Skin projected on the classroom wall will at the very least inspire me. hehe

As before mentioned by an excellent poster, The Beatles didn't have much in terms of FX. I know they used a lot of compression a la Fairchild 670, and of course they had a natural tape compression a la the tubes and tape and all. They did have ADT, mostly used by Lennon due to his insecurities about his vocals (strange, but true). Did they use a tape delay or chorus? I think there was some flange going on. Tremolo? Wow! I never listed for it or thought about it until now. It's funny, being a teacher is actually the best excuse for learning. ;-)

Check your pm just re. ADT. Don't get excited just yet! lol

They invented ADT. It was by sending the vox channel to another channel with a dealy of x.ms, creating a fat phasing.
'Springage' Echoson plugin by Overloud! I think that's what I got it for...
Can spread them really wide like Syd Barrett did.

@Smoove Grooves - I would love to play with what you came up with. Any chance I could get a copy of that template. Sounds fun.

Smoove Grooves probably got super busy. It seems the template is delayed.
