OMG, my post wasn't meant to bash EDM, nor to encourage others to do so! It was just an example. I hereby replace EDM by Trance...

Porn stars are people and have feelings too, lol. Thats like bashing KRS1 because he was a homeless bum before he got signed and became one of the best lyricists in the old skool hip-hop scene.

    :bleh:
EDM (as a sub-genre of electronic dance musics) is for girls (expressing love). I never considered it as a serious genre and don't remember any remarkable song in it. American pop culture has penetrated various genres forcefully and made them so loose. Even melody in that genre means something else.

    Don't panic chaps. Foster's In LOOOOOVE again:rofl:
I haven't heard this kind of nonsense from him since the last time the OP posted.
Who were you saying this about again? "He's not a typical EDM producer. Please listen to this show at 52:30. He's perfect at decent melody-driven tracks and fresh sounds. For this one just simple square waveform. His melodies differ alot."
The thing with dance music is that, it is for dancers more than listeners. People listen to dance music, but dancers feel it. That track you posted earlier was neither catchy or memorable, as it had no rhythm and no sole to hold on to. You see I'm not just a listener. I'm a dancer too, and no matter what genre of music I create, at heart, I will always be a dancer. Those that don't dance; don't know. To a dancer tracks like this send shivers up your spine.

Anyways. Sorry OP, but sometimes things need to be said. To your question. Iwould spend the money on a good midi controler that will give you the maximum hands on manipulation for your prefered VST's. There are shit loads of free tutorials out there. Learn to manipulate your tools.

I just meant it's better than others I've heard. Also some of his musics are special kind of EDM not typical. He's a Bach's follower and tries to compose more catchy tunes.
Yes you're right but a previously taught and pondered person about the better musics will not dance to any music. Unfortunately most dancers are not serious musicians.
Nothing to say.:bleh: But I'm firstly a listener. I'm just saying making music for dance purposes must not degrade its quality as a good music.

You've missed the point of what he's saying. You see. When you dance to club music, as a dancer, you don't dance to the kick drum. In fact, you don't really dance to the drums at all. You dance to the rhythms of the bass and synths/pianos etc. Unless the track is pretty much drum designed( I'll post an example under this for you) Now if you play the N-Joi track I posted you'll find that the drums are taken out at the 2:30 minute mark and brought back in over the next 30 seconds when the kick comes back in. No-one stops dancing because the rhythm elements that you actually dance to are still going. I too don't like the drop, particularly when I'm dancing, as as I want the rhythms to keep me moving, and the drops that producers nowadays are so obsessed with mess that up. Do you get it now?
This is what I mean dy a drum designed track..............

Don't be so hopeful. He's being regarded as an EDM partisan figure but I never ever admired it. You've heard my posted works here. I also don't like there would be even a slight resemblance between mine and EDM's and if it happens, it's just an accident.
My intention of posting that clip was not the drums or implied rhythm at all. If you watch his tutorials again, you would see he's doing EDM just for making money by producing dancable tracks. EDM and also other dance musics are not favorite commodities as his own internal wishes and preferences. He's trying to release himself from the blockhouse which has been fenced around him but unfortunately dance musics are the most noticeable and salient way of making money for electronic artists.

    @RedThresh
Definitely a power trio of heavy dubstep. They each held their own with their solo careers, but this is insane.
This the the deathmetal of EDM, as a touring band. lol

If we put melodies in two categories as so called happy modern and classic, let me be honest with you, modern melodies suck alot. As you can hear in your posted track too, modern melodies are just for girls or guys with girlish brain.:dunno:

    I almost pity you, foster.
I can totally understand why your internal struggles manifests through your music. You seem to have the totally fuck-wrong approach to music in general. Good luck progressing/developing with that approach.
