I think all of us have some scales, and even some chords we like the most...
I heard there's one DAW that saves them (chords), but i'd like to know if there's any good VST for that task...

Edit: I know all the theory, so i'm not looking for a vst that helps me out with them... I just need to save those chords i work on and use the most, those complex ones with 7th, doublings, prefered inversions... Those we keep using and rewriting over na over again...

    Thanks ;)

i think ableton has the ability to transpose on the fly so you can play everything with the finger-settings of c major if you wanted, if that is what you are asking

Or the transpose buttons on your midi/keyboard. Live performers secret weapon. How many steps to CM/Am or whatever key youre comfortable in.

Yeah man, I totally agree with you about the transposing trick, but it's also a composers secret weapon too. I've memorised all the chord variations and inversions in C/Am, and composing melodies is more simple since C (A) = Tonic and G (E) = Dominant are always in the same position. This was the leap that made music easy to understand on a structural level. I would love to be proficient in every key, but it takes years of constant practise. So yeah, if you want to make your life a lot easier, transposition is the way to go when starting out.

Or a complete nightmare when you forget to reset back. Made that mistake live ONCE and swore off the transpose button.

Or you could just learn the patterns involved with each chord and understand how inversions work and then your palette would be far less constricted.

You still have to learn all the C/Am variation and inversion patterns first, so transposing is a useful technique to get you up and running quickly. Don't get me wrong, I would love to be a keyboard maestro, but it takes time. Using transposition, I was suddenly able to compose in any key overnight.
