starting such thread implies fanboy shitstorm, no matter how honest and unbiased anyone tries to reply, so let me try....

    1) depending on what exact plugins you use, some allow change of target folders during install, some not,
usually you can move plugins later, make subfolders, whatever - BUT sometimes it may break plugin functionality (this has nothing to do with DAW mostly), some DAWs have limited ability to map multiple plugin root folders, that's inconvenient for sure, especially if you're aiming at having multiple physical SSDs/HDDs eventually,
    2) some plugins are 32bit, some are 64bit, you may end up with tons of different versions unless you explicitly carefully install only those formats you want and those formats which work well (in general, 64bit VST3 is better than 64bit VST, but not always), some DAWs offer smart filtering to ignore VST plugins in favour of VST3 ones,
    3) some older plugins are only 32bit, so you need a DAW which can bridge 32bit plugins internally, without being enforced to use 32bit DAW for entire projects (it's 2022, nobody should be limiting themselves using 32bit DAW on 64bit Windows),
    4) many DAWs offer some kind of Favorites or User Custom plugin sorting, but you need to ask yourself if you really need that many plugins to sort them, and more importantly if you want to pimp your DAW only to change your mind later and start your collection sorting from zero again in another DAW - that said, making folders in Windows seems more versatile imo
    5) all up-to-date DAWs except ProTools support VST/VST3 nowadays ....fuck ProTools
    6) every DAW has own set of plugins, often not working well in another DAWs, so do think twice if you really want to get caught into DAW-specific plugins, on the other hand it's worth rethinking what third-party plugins you really want to use, as they may perform with burden compared to DAW-native plugin set,
    7) DAWs have varied (lack) of audio formats support, for me that's a game-changer, when some DAWs can even open audio from video or even show or basic-edit the video (as much as I hate to admit it, Audio world is slowly dying in favour of Video world, so it's now the right time to start up with a DAW which can do both eventually)
    8) trying to find a DAW which adapts your brains and workflows is a two-edged sword - if you're doing something stupid/inefficient way, you can't expect a modern DAW stay behind your obsolete mindset, on the other hand if a DAW gives only a certain stupid way to do things inefficient, I won't lower my standards to that either,
    9) oh yes, the bias - I suggest Reaper, because it is the only DAW on the market which can do literally anything IF you have patience to customize things out, and in a very reliable and efficient way, you can even script things on your own if you don't find something you need - that said, if you haven't got a good experience with audio work habits overall, Reaper definitely isn't a DAW which would guide you one certain way to a result, and on its own by default isn't a complete toolset to be called a perfect DAW either, I honestly don't think anyone uses that DAW completely unmodified....

No problem my friend. My mistake, I should not have commented on your disagreement. Although my intentions were only to bring peace, I see that I have offended you and I apologize.

As for testing the DAWS, fortunately you have provided me with enough information so that it is not necessary. I'll do that later if necessary.

    Best regards

i think there is only one daw for you
    Bitwig
I ran into some problems recently that made me aware of vst handling on some daws
one of the few that i tested was
    Samplitude/sequoia
    both Steinberg
    Live
    Bitwig

i think Bitwig handles Plugins the way you want without much hassle
i´m not too sure about the Magix daws (my problem resolved befor i finished those two)but like i said
Bitwig should handle the VSTs like you want, and is a very capable DAW.

You're the only one wasting time. I already have my DAW setup as my other colleagues here.

    Cheers.

Not at all, it doesn't bother me that someone disagrees. I'm not upset. I only see that you not only have doubts about how to organize the folders, but that you have doubts regarding all the functions of a Daw. If not read yourself the previous answers you have given. I never said Audition doesn't support VST, I said VSTi (instruments). for example, you can't load kontakt.

Sure, it's just like Adobe writes on the linked page: "The application supports VST3 and VST plug-ins on both platforms and Audio Units plug-ins on macOS".
Audition is just not intended for "composing" and arranging music, e.g. its MIDI support is very basic. Most likely this is not the software you're looking for.

You can organise your VST by creating shortcuts in another folder, with subfolders (EQ, Synth ...) in most DAWs

About choosing, it is more about what you wan to do.

Studio One is VERY complete (mastering project included)
Cubase and Logic too, Reaper may be

    Protools s*cks at MIDI
FL Studio is VERY strange when compared to '"regular" DAWs (mixer and more) BUT it get a lot of nice "special" features
... i could continue for days.

And YES, i tested them all before sticking to Cubase and S1 (Windows on my side) as "do it all" DAWs (apart live gigs)
But it is MY way, i don't pretend to drive anyone.

CLAP format introduced the per-note modulation for non-stock devices (u-he etc.) in Bitwig and the sound designing phase is much more fun in it compared to FL (fun = more intuitive, can remain in the flow)

and Bitwig is able to import the .fls projects, so composing in FL (still has the best piano roll and has MIDI logger ... so don't have to play with record button) sound designing etc. in Bitwig and S1 for post-production (Bitwig hasn't got ARA support so vocal mixing also goes to S1)

Yes, I was asking for that information too, read my first post of this thread
Sorry, I did not understand it right. Anyway, vsti in my workflow are basic, so in my case Audition it's not the best option

Sorry I did not understand it right, I meant vsti (which now I know are not supported in Audition). Thank you for the info anyway
In my case MIDI is basic so Audition, as you say, is not in my top list

    Yes and no.
As I mentioned before "Aliases' wich are on the MAC - The shortcut system just like in Reaper is a mapping system - a pointer.
The smartest option which it seems you have now is to pick two, download the demos of both and decide if either/both or one suits you best :)
    Cheers

P.S. - The Studio One guys came from Steinberg (Cubase).

Thanks for the correction - You are correct. :mates:
Considering how they work similarly, with focused Surround and other exceptions of course, I'd be surprised if they did not have access to all of the Cubase code too.

He was looking for arguments, and maintained a good mood.
He is now going with Studio One ... witch was a logical choice between "do it all" DAWs.

The non sense aggressive person here is YOU.

"nowadays" a lot of choices can be improved BY SHARING point of view.
    That's called "discussion".

As a side note, you are not going to last long here ...
