Hopefully, you're all doing fine.

Well, I've been listening to the latest Steven Wilson stuff, which is mostly electronic mixed with punctual traditional instruments here and there, and I'm really enjoying it.

I always wanted to get out of the rock/pop/guitar mindset and I feel this is a good direction to follow...But I need more data. lol

So, I'm looking for more references of songs/albums/artists like this: Slow tempo, rich ambiences and textures, possible new approaches to traditional instruments, vocal arrangements with creative effects, nice lyrics, etc...

Any suggestions?

I think Darkside could be your thing. Their unique album is a masterpiece for me, hopefully they'll release something this year.

Glad you liked it I wish I knew something else as good in that style, like you I have more of a rock/guitar background and would like to discover new things.
Check out Nicolas Jaar's solo albums (he's one of the 2 members of Darkside), you might like it too.

Cocteau Twins, maybe... Lazy Calm / Victorialand album was my favorite I remember (lyrics, though..;)

 

Treasure is also an amazing album. Love them. Very unique and ethereal. Took a couple of friends from college to see them in London years ago. One of them fell asleep.
