    When I need a lesson in musical humility, here is an artist that puts me in my place, and I like it. https://soundcloud.com/chickcorea/galaxy-32-star-4

    @Algae

    Dont really want to spoil the good atmosphere in your thread, but..........

    I have listen to Mr. Corea for many years (Im an addicted jazz fan)! I have vinyls, CDs etc. with this musician - if you want a list, I can provide that also - but I have this basic problems with Mr. Corea:

    I´ll start with this new tune he has made, and that you just gave us a link to:
    This is not really much serious different from what he did way back in the 90´ties!
    A few really good release from him is: "An Evening with Chick Corea & Herbie Hancock", The Chick Corea Akoustic band stuff and some of the early Return to Forever records - I still clearly remember when I bought "Romatic Worrior" 1979 and couldn´t get home fast enough playing it on my stereo!

    Basic critisim is that I consider Mr. Corea sold out his jazz-gen from being a guy, in general, content selling well produced pop-stuff with a great lot of studio technology, and very little music involved!

    Thats all

    Yes Sir , between Weather Report , The Dixie Dregs & tomita , and of course 'Chick Corea' ;
    Will 'humble' yer musical skillz , right to the basement ya started in !!!!

    'Course for me , it was RUSH .... 'BIG TIME MAN !' After seeing them play live 37 times,
    (from 1973 up to now , with Clock work Angles) ..... They make me wanna throw my basses and drums
    away !!!

    So many GREAT musicians came out'a the 70'z especially the 'off the wall bands' ...
    Oh my oh my , ya'z know this list could go on FOREVER !!!

    Romantic Warrior, Thorens turntable with a Stanton or Ortofon cartridge, Soundcraft pre-amp, Crown DC300, pair of JBL4311B control monitors, late 70's Remember that as being just about orgasmic. (and the 70's are kinda fuzzy)I know it's not Chick's best work, but I guess I have a little nostalgia in me after all. Lenny White was soooooooo funky.---ha ha, need to start a geezer thread here somewhere.

    I got to see Miles once, later in his life. Having a hard time remembering who was in his band that night. I may have been intoxicated. I remember Foley was playing bass....Another good reason why I quit drinking. I missed a couple good shows (and an Indianapolis 500) that I was at.
