Is there an app that lets you check for issues with VSTs?

I'm on Ableton Live 11 and it doesn't tell you when a VST is broken, so I was wondering if theres an App or a different DAW that actually outputs a log

    Cheers

VST3 SDK has a plugin validator, it also tests the plugin. And Cubase is Steinberg's product so if it fails with a VST it has a problem indeed.

Yes, but only vst3. Cubase validates vst2 too!

I know the original request was to check them in bulk, like you can with a capable daw plugin manager; but I thought I would add that BlueCat Audio patchwork is extremely useful for testing plugins in the various formats they come in. If it is a valid working plugin, Patchwork will load it inside the daw without a problem. It is good for ruling out wrappers like KK.

Do you suspect a specific vst?

No not necessarly but sometimes ableton live's scanner gets stuck at certain vsts for long time and I was wondering if its because of the plugin.
and checking one by one could take a while with 1017 VST3 plugins...

The longtime scanning in live is unfortunately normal. Espacially on older machines. This issue was discussed already in multiple threads here.
once all your plugins are scanned, you can abbort the plugin scan in the options next time you start live!

Its obviously due to a poor implementation of the plugin, scans are supposed to be as fast as they can be. CLAP aims to fix this. iLok plugins take a very long time if they aren't activated or something is out of order. Arturia takes time, iZotope too.
