Wow, she was an icon. She has left a permanent mark on pop culture and will be remembered fondly for a very long time. Although short compared to some, in her life she has accomplished what few others can claim.
Yesterday I saw the last star wars movie to date : "Rogue One" ... she appears digitally recreated at the end of the movie ... R.I.P Princess Leia
Fuck life in capitalism! It's better to die; it would just be better if people weren't cowards and died fighting instead of lying in hospitals!
Saw the original "franchise" and then the '80s happened and things got real for me. Movie stars have been talking down to me and mocking my proletarian existence from the elevation of their lavish salaraies and lifestyles all my life. She was probably a nice woman, and it's sad when anyone dies. I really only "care" when musical celebrities pass away, because I adhere to some fanboy's narcissistic illusion of "connection" to them - if I'm not genuinely touched and moved and inspired (and heavily-influenced) by their work. When it comes down to it, because no one will miss me after I've perished, it's hard for me to "grieve" for any dead celebrity (except Bowie, who'd faked his death). They'd had a better life, at least from the exterior, than I have, and we squander on mediated personages and the characters they portray so much love which we should be investing one another instead.
she was out there doing her thing by the way .. to the last... she had a cardiac arrest on a plane returning to USA from London... so naturally she was taken to a hospital... "In England, Fisher had just finished shooting new episodes for Amazon's streaming series, "Catastrophe," before her health crisis. My love hurts. Go in peace sister. I would like to believe that this is the case as it would mean one of my favorite people I never knew is still alive out there, somewhere. It also means that millions of people are out there, wrongfully saddened by an event that never took place. That level of Tom Sawyerism is only cool if you end up showing up at your own funeral. what makes it even sadder...... thinking about the fact that Debbie Reynolds is feeling the worst pain a human can have..... outliving your own child............... R.I.P. Carrie...... in real life, you proved to be bigger, and more beautiful, than the role that made you the modern pop-culture icon you portrayed
at the risk of sullying my own thread.. well you already sort of did.... get yourself a dog tag.. and stamp on it "DNR = do not resuscitate, and DO NOT take to a hosptial" so when you are found unresponsive one of these days.. you may go out in the heat of "battle" I for one.. will not miss you for 1 second... Princess Leia , despite being taken to a hosptial ( as likely required by law) I will miss...
You don't know me. And you certainly don't know capitalism, because you need it to dream of your much desired wealth. People with interests are always subjective - in the most whorish way!
