I recently signed up to a Russian Tracker Website... and I downloaded one or two things...

However I can't seed at all...

I'm using qBittorrent and NordVPN...

I would be grateful for any pointers or advice

 

VPN may present you another issue, but your first problem is probably the client software you are using anyway. It has been known to incorrectly report upload stats to trackers. I don't know why, I use Transmission client anyway.

 

I use the same allready for years and never had probs neither had heard or read of this "known" issue. Sorry, but thats bs

 

I've been using qBit + vpn on all sort trackers with no problems.

How many seeders and leechers are on the files you're sharing? Guess nobody needs you to seed..

 

you need to open the port that used for connection, you need to manually set it on the router.

check your torrent client and see what port is used then check if it is already opened or not, if not, open it.

I'll create a virtual card using revolute... I assume the payment will be linked to my username and not my IP.Address etc?... because I intend to use a VPN on the website...

 

I think the router setting is always the same for any OS. Other than few PCs, my studio also have a Mac, iPad, iPhone and one uBuntu laptop using the same router. It is a little tricky if you are downloading torrent with through VPN though and I suggest you take a look at seedbox sites if you are okay with paying for the service. Unfortunately I never use such service and can't explain more about it, I believe some of the guy here know about it.

 

I think it is, too. people using one specific tracker have gotten screwed by using that one client before. a good enough number where I would even remember a detail like this about a software I don't even use. But I do.
