Can't find Spire

    Ableton says: "VST plugin could not be found" every time I open a 3rd party Project. Does anyone know why? I have Spire installed. I can load Spire manually and then load the presets manually, but I have no idea Why Ableton can't find Spire. Ableton doesn't have problems loading Sylenth1, or Massive.

    I have heard that the reason is that the 3rd party Project is made with an Apple computer (AAX) and I am on a Windows computer (VST). For some reason that gives problems. But only with Spire, and not with other synths...huh ? Anyone?

    I'm on Windows 7 (64bit) and I installed Spire (64 bit).

    Your Spire dll is called Spire 1.1, Projects are trying to load Spire.dll and they can't find it. I guess renaming the dll should fix the issue.

    I think the vst was renamed because v1.1+ isn't backwards compatible. If what somethin suggests doesn't work, try finding an older version of Spire and install it alongside the newer one. Older projects should open now.

    did you look under the sofa cushions? i find lots of stuff there.

    Thanks for replying. I have tried renaming the dll, but that didn't work. So now I wil try to install an older version.
