dude you got the cassette transport by waves factory, you should definitely add their full blown cassette plugin to that awesome list

RC-20 does not inherently gate the Noise module on input. There is a "Follow" knob that increases noise amplitude along with input. So make sure you don't have "Follow" turned all the way up, which creates a gating behavior like you describe since it creates the greatest dynamic range possible.

 

(if I am not wrong) it seems that nobody talked about Arturia's Mellofi, which is very surprising. I think it is very good for LoFi FX (and not only, to be honest...)

I also use all Aberrant stuff and RC20

Another very interesting tool is Alborosie Dub Station by audiothing, not only a delay, or at least, can be used to make very interesting LoFi sounds.

 

I hate Arturia effects, like i hate Rob Papen effects
That's probably why i never tested it.

Seems to sound good, even if limited compared to SCII (no drop out it seems ...)

Hornet makes also that kind of plugins. And they all are very cheap, and even with discount up to 50% and 60, 70% almost ten times per year. And they are very good!
