Hello, I recently downloaded The Pirate Omnisphere 2.6 Complete on Mac, but I cannot find a "STEAM Folder", nor can any of the steps unzip. I have never installed an application before so I am unsure where to start. If anyone could give any advice it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

 

STEAM folder here:
Macintosh HD/Users/Username/Library/Application/Support/Spectrasonics/

you don't need to unpack each part of multirar. select part1, and unpack ONLY it. files from other parts will be unpacked automatically.

and... are you sure you have complete installation? I can't see steps from 1 to 4...

 

and never unpack multirar? use keka - freeware app for unpacking RAR archives.

@Talula Thanks for your help so far, I still am a little confused about what I should do with the STEAM folder, it is not a file in my computer, so should I put it into terminal? Before unzipping all of the files within part 1, I wanted to make sure that I am doing the right steps; as I still am not completely sure that I am following the instructions which are :
Step 1.
Make sure your anti-virus is disabled. To save time you should download this release to the hard drive in which you plan to have the Spectrasonics STEAM folder installed. Keep in mind that for better performance the STEAM folder should be located on a drive other than the one in which your Operating System is installed.

Step 2.
Unzip STEAM parts 1-15 and extract the ISO (the ISO should be extracted to the location in which your STEAM folder is going to reside or moved there once it is extracted).The result is going to be a 83 GB folder labeled "Spectrasonics". Inside this Specrasonics folder, you are going to find the STEAM folder.

STEP 3.
Create a shortcut to the STEAM folder.

STEP 4.
Go to C:\ProgramData and create a folder named Spectrasonics. Inside this folder place the STEAM shortcut created in STEP 3.


STEP 5.
Unzip Step 5 archive and Run as administrator the Omnisphere Software Update.exe file. DO NOT start Omnisphere yet.

STEP 6(a).
Unzip Step 6 archive and Run as administrator the KeyGen.exe and PATCH the Omnisphere dlls in your VST folder and in C:\ProgramData\Spectrasonics\plug-ins\64bit. Close the keygen .

STEP 6(b).
Run Omnisphere as administrator. You are going to get a black screen while Omnisphere creates the necessary files it needs. Do not panic.Be patient, after several minutes the Omnisphere registration window will open and provide you with a Challenge Code.


STEP 6(c).
Copy and paste the Challenge Code onto the Key Generator's Challenge Code window.

STEP 6(d).
Press the GENERATE button and copy the generated Response Code.


STEP 6(e).
Paste the copied Response Code into the Omnisphere's Response Code Line by pressing the Paste tab. After this operation the key generator no longer is needed.

STEP 6(f).
Press the Continue tab and when the next window appears, close Omnisphere.

STEP 7.
Unzip Step 7 archive and run as administrator the Omnisphere 2 data updater.exe (soundsouerce update)

STEP 8.
Unzip Step 8 archive and run as administrator the Omnisphere 2 data updater.exe (patch library update)

STEP 9.
Unzip Step 9 archive and run as administrator Bob Moog Tribute Patch Library.exe

STEP 10.
Run Omnisphere, go to SYSTEM and turn off "Switch to layer upon activation." Close Omnisphere and re-open it.

If I run Part 1 through Keka, would that create the STEAM folder, or do I need to use the STEAM folder to extract the ISO?

 

At the moment, I think the next best step is to do this. Is this right?

 

extract ISO to any place on your hdd (you need about 170 GB free space - 83 GB for temp files + 83 GB for ISO).
OR
create STEAM folder in Macintosh HD/Users/YOUR_USERNAME/Library/Application/Support/Spectrasonics/
and extract ISO in STEAM folder.

but you posted instruction for a windows version... are you sure it's for mac?

 

NO! there are folders. what's inside these folders?

 

I found this on PB under Mac, so I just assumed that this was correct. So I am not sure if this is actually Mac or not. This is what is inside the folders.

 

use keka to extract files from 20180906_120200.part1.7z.001 - ONLY from 001 file!
do this in other 14 folders. after this you should see 15 files (1 new file in each folder). you need to put this 15 files in 1 folder.
use keka again to extract files - ONLY from 1-st part of these 15 parts.

I think your torrent client unpack 15 parts after downloading (uncheck this option in client settings).

Hi @Talula, thank you for your help so far! I wouldn't know where to start without it. I have completed 14 of the 15 extractions but was wondering about the fifteenth, as there is only one file and it is not labeled 001. After it is completed I was wondering if I should make the shortcut designated to that folder. Thank you again for your tremendous help!

 

it's the last part, everything's fine.

now extract files from part01.7z
(check free space on your hdd, if you now have 15 files from part01.7z to part15.7z you can delete that 15 folders with*.001, *.002 etc files for free space. you need only part01.7z to part15.7z and all 15 files must be in one folder)

the result is going to be a 83 GB folder labeled "Spectrasonics" and inside this folder, you are going to find the STEAM folder.

 

I think I may have done this incorrectly as thee folder remained as "untitled" and is only 66.3GB. I selected "extract using Keka" from the right-click menu. Should I extract it again?

 

yes, as previous times - only from part1

 

When using Keka I get Error code 3 using "unrar"
CRC error occurred, maybe the file is corrupt
when using unarchiver I get there is a problem with basically folders 6,7,8,9,11,12,13,14..
Please help me get these into an ISO

That was the first thing I did before downloading this on Keka Version1.26 currently

 

Based on the instructions copied here, it would appear you downloaded a windows release. My Mac release install was not this involved, came with 3 dmgs to copy into a STEAM folder I created at the path mentioned here already.

I would redownload this from a different source so that you are sure it is for Mac.

I don't believe I can tell you where I found my release, but I think I can
tell you it is 165.47 GB.
