Can you name softwares/tools that show in real time notes without recording?

I saw somewhere in tutorials guys playing on the keyboard and the notes appearing right away on a static piano staff, but just as long the keys were pressed, to be overwritten again with other played chords/notes.

Maybe it showed chords too (like A7b9), that's very welcome, but not mandatory.
Maybe it showed also a piano keyboard, but it's not required.

I hope I was clear, but I'll try to get again the example clips on yt or else.

Which DAW do you use? Some DAWs have plugins that display the values and notes.

HoRNet releases SongKey MK4 - key chord and tempo detection tool

Does not matter the daw, any vst shoud work.
However I think it's a stand alone sw, and I'm not interested in keyboard show, just piano staff showing notes.

Think it as a score sw, but showing just a little portion of piano staff and showing just the notes played in real time, without toggling recording.

Edit: in the meanwhile I found something similar to what I requested, it's Midiculous, but if someone finds even less sophisticated tool or even free, let me know.

Many DAWs plus plugins: a DAW (like Reaper, Cubase, Logic, etc.) records your MIDI and you add a MIDI‑to‑notation or MIDI‑monitor plugin that shows the currently held notes and chord name in a separate window.

Ableton has a built-in tuner. A tuner VST plugin also works – you can assign it to any MIDI or audio channel.

I don't need all the chord recognize things.
But ChordieApp seems to be a valid candidate.
The upper left piano staff pentagram is exactly what I need.

Edited: doesn't have the piano staff, so it isn't what you're looking for.

If you want the smallest and simpler possible option, I think the venerable oldies by pizMIDI have something like that.
Let me check it up a sec.

    Ok, how about this:

The problem is they're so old that I don't know if there's a 64bit version. Someone adapted them to x64 a few years ago, but don't remember.

    Best Answer
https://github.com/la-jarre-a-son/midi-jar/releases go here and click on Show all assets (17).

If you don't care for showing chords, there's also:

    https://www.pluginguru.com/products/showmidi/
    https://kobito.gumroad.com/l/SimplePianoVisualizer

If you're on Reaper or if you're using a JSFX bridge, there's https://github.com/geraintluff/jsfx => Piano Display.

Yeah, the 64 bit version still works, at least the keyboard. https://code.google.com/archive/p/pizmidi/downloads

Yep I have some gizmos from piz, very useful.

Thank you all for the suggested options, I'll see what is best to me.
