Can you advise me on the best method to modify pitch on voice without sounding bad?

I currently use ableton and I have been playing with the +/- ST functions
    beats/tones/textures/complex etc.

I would love some guidance into exploring this for singing and not sounding as my friend says
    "a broke ass kidnapper"

also perhaps being able to hear live singing pitched down/up.

I have tried "alterboy" and "autotune efx+" and to me it sounds too synthetic, too robotish-like still.

Perhaps i need to improve my mix/mastering of the voice as well, so far i find abletons native "tones" with low grain to be the cleanest one. (but manually doing this everytime is a bit of a hustle)

I would love to hear some feedback from anyone or any video tutorials that you could refer me to.

    Thank you in advance!
    GG

I'm very curious after hearing this artist to try something similar

but I cant figure out for my life whats the cleanest methods for doing so.

Need better ears to help me with this puzzle!

I use ableton, (have tried alterboy and autotune efx+ but they sounded too robotic)

    minute 1:45

    or a different artist

    thank you so much!

Pitch is only a single part of the human voice. Just do a brief YouTube search of Fourier transform & you'll start to understand the human voice is more complex than just pitch. My recommendation for tools would be Melodyne & possibly some combination of Izotope RX8

Again, Melodyne. The best that there is.

Melodyne is the one plugin that if giving a choice of picking just one plugin to use I will certainly pick. It is priceless. Indeed, for what it does Celemony could charge $2,000 and people would gladly pay it. Nothing comes even closer to it. Get the tutorials from Celemony. The ones from AZ, learn to master it and your music will benefit. BTW, it can be used on instruments, too. No need for a retake.

I havent fully been able to explore into Melodyne yet.

Are there any pedals / plugins that you would recommend for live recording though?

What has been recommended from what I have researched is for post recording tuning, am i correct?
