Yes I like Guitar rig the most for me. It's also good to have a good guitar to get a decent sound.

wow... acutal music .... this takes me back..and makes me smile... very nice man!!

has all the elements, nice intro, funky bass, bright background accents, fat old synths, clean clear solo, and funky licks too ,
electro snare and tom hits, totally 80's but with the modern bits thrown in.. you made my day....

the basic structure of it sounds so good I couldn't even think to criticize the mix,
but can't wait to hear it after Spencer adds the magic..

and to top it all off.. making me green with envy too

Thanks I think so also. Of course I have a good guitar with good pickups also.
I do not know how it would sound with a cheap guitar and cheap pickups.

    wonderfully 80's , needs brightness imho : )
the guitar seems a little dominant and also the vocal samples get muddied esp. in the latter part.
and , overall, i think you could tighten up the rhythm of the guitar ( the rhythm bits seem a little bit off)
that's just cold critique, excellent tune otherwise

strats are a darker toned instrument, and this one is about in it's sweetest spot, bet you have a really nice comfy case
for that baby, can only imagine the price if it was hanging in some guitar shop...

am a little surprised you got such a nice tone from guitar rig instead of a mic'd set up, feel free to tell us your secret spice there...
for right now I'm going with "well..it's a 60's strat with good pickups ! "

I wouldn't mess with the guitar too much, just that pro touch that's beyond skills I have, don't feel the guitar is overly
to the fore, it's good enough to stand out !

Hopefully I can get this to Spencer so he can do his magic on it and make it sound better.

I did not mess with the guitar too much I left it alone. Really I just plugged it straight into my Focusrite Pro 40 and adjusted the recoding levels and record. I do not know maybe it's just one really sweet guitar or my playing. I have it in a floor stand I Play it way too much to store it in the case. I could not sell it, it's as SRV said my second wife. Again Hurr Durr thank you for all the support and nice comments on the song and my playing.

Intro is too long. Love the funky synth and bass - brings me back to Prince and the 80's. Sound is very good to me. 2:30 the guitar solo ould have more space (no synth). No offence m8 but i was disapointed after a while because this is an instrumental. Good 80's vibe.

    I hate this 80's sound...

Of all the genres to come back into vogue, this was the one i was dreading the most...

    Buts that's just my opinion...

Great 80's almost Jeff Lorber feel. The intro doesn't seem to fit with the rest of the song but sounds like a good idea for another track. Maybe those vocals would sound better over the part that starts 25secs. The beats aren't punchy or energetic enough. Good bassline but lost in the mix. Needs a pad with a bit more width. Needs some oldskool scratches and 808 cowbell, percussive elements, DX bells standing out more and better fills a hook. Vocals too low and gimmicky. Excellent 80's style Beat Street guitar solo but comes in too early and maybe a bit too long. Mix is very busy and some of the synths sound too clean and softsynth with too much filter sweep rather than analog of dirty digital. Needs that radio compression esp over the pad parts. Obviously you intend to make some changes so hope i'm not being too harsh. This is def my cup of of though. Its tough making a track like this without a vocal to pad it out with.

No need to do anything. Just put a gluecompressor and a limiter to the master channel and glue abit. For my taste this is almost perfect. Sound of the seventies doesn't need any digital clarity of the 2000.Its really authentical.

Hi Midiman. First off, when I was a LOT younger, I really loved a track called Living in a box and this track goes a long way to recapturing that 80's sound. For that I applaud you. I love your song a great deal.

For me, it felt like there was a slight bit of phasing with everything fighting for the right to exist down the middle of the track. Consequently, the drums were getting drowned out a bit. That said, did I mention I thoroughly enjoyed the actual track though?

Wow thanks for bringing back good memories with living in a box. So cool thanks. I Am working with Spencer now and it will be remixed and mastered it for radio with heavy compression and cleaning the frequency's up for clarity.
I appreciate everyone feed back on this and Spencer for his assistance on mastering this, for My03 and me.
